Yes it sounds like the two rooms should be the same color. I wouldn’t go Sea Salt because it has green tones and I see no hint of green in your materials. Try a swatch of BM Moonshine. It’s a very lovely soft gray/blue.

I know you didn’t ask, but are you sure you want that tile behind your range? It’s going to be a bear to keep clean. Lots of grout that is going to get grease and spaghetti sauce etc on it.

@lwfomny - we were originally going to put quartz behind the range so there would be no grout. Then I read here that the heat of the range can cause burn marks on the quartz so we changed directions. My husband fell in love with this tile so we went from no grout to lots of grout. Good point - definitely something to reconsider.

It is pretty tile for sure. I just suspect you might end up regretting it 😊.

The small tile is really pretty, but I think you should do all in the blue subway tile.

Just a thought since a lot of grout using multi color tile for range area. Maybe you could use the multi color tile to just accent like a frame above the range area wall and fill in with the subway in herringtone pattern. Do all backsplash in the subway.

Using a feature tile behind the stovetop is outdated. I would use the subway tile and an expoxy grout.

The tile is a really pretty color. Just make sure you are going to like that color until the next time you renovate. Also, it dictates the colors in the rest of your home.

No right on wrong way.....just that you will need to love this color for years. Here is a way to add blue without permanence.

The smaller tiles is way too busy. The bluish subway tile is beautiful. Use it for all the backsplash.

Would NOT use a different tile behind range & hood (outdated look).

I love the counters and love the bluish subway tile despite the smaller tiles being gorgeous but they do not go as well.

Those small tiles are beautiful. Maybe you could make a glass tile trivet tray to use on the counter. Have fun!

Wow - so many comments and good ideas about the tile. Contractor told me last night at 5 pm that I need a wall color by today! Only one suggestion about a wall color to go with Ellie Gray cabinets. Any one else?

Do you have time to purchase a few test pots or at least large sized samples, as lighting can have a big impact and it’s a major decision since it will be used extensively. I would be sure to test and your best bet might be white. Does the painter use a specific brand/do you have a choice?

A safe bet would be to have the painter bring in the cabinet and do a custom match to that.

Paint color also depends on how much wall is in the kitchen, what the tones are in the dining room, what the tones are in the rest of the house.

This is what I would do. Run out to a lowes (carries SW colors) or a SW store. Grab the large sample booklets -or- if at an SW store, they let you borrow a whole color wheel. Take yer samples and yer chips and visit the actual room, hopefully with the actual windows installed. Lay them out. Take that color wheel and fan it out or open up the booklets.

You could have a gray symphony but you could also have something a bit warmer or cooler or just add color. It depends on what you like, not what I like. People can't comment too much on colors here because the photos change the original colors and then each person's monitor changes it again.

Like the tile comments, but I like the mosaic. I might borrow a sample a little less strong if it's made, just to check. But I would do an entire wall with it if the budget fit because it's interesting and the blue tile is kinda blah and on my monitor doesn't make the other samples look good. None of that is advice because I'm not there and therefor have no idea if what I'm looking at is real. I am working on repainting my kitchen. I'm gotten chips 3 times so far. The background here is pavilion gray (FB). It is being replaced by Honeydew. My choices represent something a little more colorful than what I have and are to not startle when moving from adjacent rooms. The windows face south-southwest, so anything warm becomes too warm in average daylight. I move the tree around in the room to see it in all of the light. In working with light colors, in a room with a lot of light, what looks different in a store can change in this room to looking about the same. And these colors are only in the neighborhood of what these chips look like in this photo.

I wouldn't use either of those colors. With the gray cabinets, I don't think you should be adding more gray to the walls, and the green tinge in the BM color may not work with the blue back spalsh tiles. I'd use a more neutral white for some clarity so it doesn't get muddy. And I agree with others about removing the small glass tiles. Just use the blue ones.
