An update. We purchased a Fisher and Paykel double oven for $2600 delivered from an authorized dealer over Ebay of all places. I checked the wiring to our old oven and I was amazed to discover that although it was a 30 amp breaker they had used 8 gauge wire. I installed a 40 amp breaker and we were good to go. As mentioned in this thread, when you have the option of two dishes that require different temps. and oven modes to prepare you use what you have. Our menus have expanded since we installed the double oven. We purchased a countertop microwave in stainless to match the ovens. So far the biggest difference is that the FP oven is far superior compared to the Jennair that we had. I never thought that an oven would make such a difference. The same recipes taste so much better. Even a simple dish like roasted new potatoes with rosemary have a creamier texture while still remaining crisp. Based on my experience I would not hesitate recommending a double oven if you can accommodate them n your kitchen. Thanks for the advice offered....

I looked at those too! They sounded awfully appealing but I could not find much info at all about them, and I would have had to order them online. I thought the AEGs were out of circulation in the US, but maybe not? I was able to order the Fisher Paykels from my local high end appliance store, have them delivered, get a good warranty for local service etc. I decided to spend a little more to go with a more known and supported product. I drooled over the Mieles a bit, but the 2000 dollar price difference convinced me otherwise. Good luck shopping. I must have looked at these ovens for 5 years before I finally had all my ducks in a row to do it.

We love our FP ovens. They meet all of your needs and are pretty quiet. They also have a few bells too: many cook modes, timed bake and are self cleaning.

I have the Whirlpool Gold that is #1 with consumer reports and I am very happy with it. There is no loud noise at all from the fan. At the most it is like a whisper in the background. I was prepared for a problem with it and had all of the information regarding the repair kit. Thankfully it was not necessary. It is slow to preheat. I keep an oven thermometer to show me the accurate temperature. One bonus is that it fit into my existing wall oven cabinet. The previous wall oven was only 27". The cabinet is 30" and the 30" Whirlpool fits in perfectly.
