Sorry, I can't recall who posted this, but I'm happy I saw it, and wanted to say Thank You!

I'd never shopped Talbots, although there is a store in my town. It's unlikely I'd ever pay their full prices, but I'm enjoying several tops I bought 'on sale'. Yesterday I surprised DGS (who has two hives in our yard) with my new blue and white striped Talbot's sweater with embroidered bees!

I may have gotten lucky with the sales because their XS is perfect for me -- and is often a size left at the end of a season.

Thanks for letting us know how things are going, phoggie. It is really great to have friends make a major offer to help, especially when we are in need, up in the sir, etc. I hope that you have some breathing space and can get settled down better into your new lifestyle: it is such a huge adjustment, and I think often goes better if we have a housemate to help us relate to varied thoughts, offering intellectual stimulation along with companionship. ole joyful

Thanks Seniorgal! I don't think I have time now to use the slow cooker, but I'll keep that idea for the next batch of ribs. I have more in the freezer. I think what I'm going to do today, is put a dry rub on the ribs for the BBQ and while they are cooking, I'll do cabbage and potatoes, carrots, etc, in chicken stock on the side burner of the Q.

Gee Eva, I don't envy y'all that Houston traffic!! Yep!! Next year is your year!! Mine are coming from Midlothian Sunday after their church is over and we'll all be down at Jennifer's. socks -- Yes, DGS tried hives in his Chicago neighborhood yard for two summers, but each colony decamped in winter. This summer he brought two hives here to see if the colonies will do better. Our DS and he come up avery few weeks to check the hives -- so far, so good. (DGS doesn't have his driver's permit yet.)

The bees are so sweet! We had the exterior of our house painted recently, and the painters were unscathed, working right above the hives.
