Prep Sink, Cleanup Sink, Workstation Sink & garbage disposal question?
Comments (51)Sorry, for the late reply. I just saw this. No, we've had so many other issues come up with the build that have required all my attention, I haven't had time to focus on this. I do plan to use 30"-36" sinks. I will let the final cabinet layout dictate the sink sizes, so long as we are in that range. If I have an extra 3" of wasted space, I'll go up in sink size, or if I need a few inches for the trash can, I'll go down a couple inches on the sink. The main thing I haven't decided on yet, is whether they'll both be apron sinks or one apron and one under mount. Or, one stainless steel and one fire clay/ceramic/etc? Oh boy, I guess I have a little more left to decide than I thought! I think lead time and prices will point in the right direction on material! LOL! @vevmom, if your island is 10' long, I think the 33" sink will work nicely. That is still less than 1/3 of your island. I think bbtrix's photos above are great for helping to visualize this. (Thanks again bbtrix!) That island is 8' long with a stages 45. You'll have 2 more feet of island, plus a smaller sink. Let me know what you decide....See MoreNeed an under sink cabinet pull out trash can for Workstation Sink
Comments (8)I checked with my designers and although the 19" +/- height is pretty standard that is with a standard 8 gal container. They suggested getting a rev a shelf pull out unit sold separately and buying 7 gal containers which are the same approx size and shape only shorter and can be ordered from just about anywhere. Good luck!...See MorePrep Sink Help - Sink Workstation?
Comments (6)I will never judge anyone for wanting to avoid as much cleaning as possible. We’ve marked out how large the first sink option is and it’s too large for what we need. Going to go with a smaller 17 or 18” sink and just use seperate cutting boards, collanders, etc., because as cool as the workstation appears to be, it doesn’t appear to provide additional function (e.g., you can just have a cutting board and colander extend over the sink, no real difference). I think also over time as these things wear, you eventually end up with that anyways....See More36" stainless steel one-basin workstation sink recommendations?
Comments (20)Purpleplume, I did not see my specific model before ordering. I believe it is a new model. I've looked at so many sinks that I imagine I did see a Ruvati sink. Because I have seen so many sinks, I knew what sort of features that I wanted so seeing my particular sink in person before ordering wasn't as big a deal as you would think. Also, there just were not many sinks that ticked off all the boxes that I wanted. That is--not zero radius, stainless steel, 16 gauge, 33" width, one basin, center drain, workstation. For example, I know that I hate zero radius sinks. The "working models" (sinks with actual water hooked up to them) that were zero radius sinks at the numerous showrooms I have visited all seemed to have gunk in the corners. So, I knew that I wanted a rounded radius corner. I could look at an internet picture and see what sort of corner the sink had without having to actually see it in person. The gauge of the sink is how thick it is. So if I know that a sink is 16 gauge, I don't have to see it actually in person to have a sense of its quality. The beauty of buying from Home Depot is that the sink was shipped to my house for free and is returnable. There are probably other stores with equally attractive selling policies. So, you can order the sink, and if you don't like it, simply return it....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
