Need Help Choosing Area Rug for Living Room
Comments (16)Try this......move the ottoman where your coffee table is now just to see if a darker plane will give you the "anchorage" you're looking for. If that does the trick then you can either purchase a new, dark coffee table or paint the base of your existing one. I think adding an area rug will make the space seem too closed in. I like all your colors....See MoreNeed help choosing a new rug
Comments (12)Hi there. Cannot tell exactly color of sofa as photo is blurry, but my suggestions of above would embrace the space with texture to compliment the sofa and art work. I know you mentioned watercolor style design but threw this out there for suggestions as texture and pillows to unify once rug has been chosen. Also, the direct relationship to the other rooms are important when choosing materials. A different perspective would help to have a cohesive look. Your room appears more contemporary which I was inspired by your sofa and art for the above suggestions. The black coffee table would be a nice contrast to any of the rugs and the shape of cowhide I chose to break up the squares in your space. If you chose this route then fun pillows would be a definite either in color or monochromatic depending on your preferences. Good luck...See MoreNeed help choosing new rugs, update dining room
Comments (3)I would like suggestions for rugs - 5 foot round for foyer and 9' X 11' rectangle for dining room. budget is up to $1000 for both. Preferably rug colors that would allow me to keep the stair carpet but move toward a lighter, color for the foyer and dining room rugs. Also I would like suggestions for drapes and fabric for chairs for dining room. Budget for that would be around $500....See MoreI need help choosing new rugs for challenging shaped kitchen.
Comments (13)Agree on the oddity of rugs in a kitchen. I was told ages ago a rug at outside doors really keeps the dirt tracked in, down. We are shoeless inside but still there are always THOSE TIMES. I also have a highly cushioned mat in front of my sink. I stand there for long periods of time certain times of the year and find it very helpful on my knees and hips....See MoreSherry Graves
