I would start with a counter depth fridge and new lighting I would do a LED track light that can be manipulated to put light wher eit is need not all in the center LED bulbs 4000K Then address your storage situation it appears that is big issue. Sometimes it is as simple as decluttering drawers and cabinets.I think the cost fro refacing is very close to the cost of new cabinets and IMO new cabinets would be the best option since all those basse cabinets should be drawers for sure and a bit of a reorganization of the space would aslo allow for a DW and proper venting for the range.

I really like your kitchen! a smaller kitchen is sometimes more efficient than a larger one. I agree with Patricia that drawers are the way to go. it’s amazing how much more functional a kitchen becomes once drawers take the place of lower cabs. A counter depth fridge would also be a perfect look but make sure you have enough room for everything you normally stow in your fridge. if you think you won’t have enough space use your current fridge in a garage or basement for overflow. i actually found that the counterdepth was perfect because items don’t get pushed to the back and forgotten about.

Thank you both! The lower cabinets actually have pull out drawers in the part that jets out. The other cabinets only have about 12” of space from door to wall.

May be you can replace arched top doors? The base ones look good. Or just to order top cabinets.

Or just paint cabinets and walls. declutter countertop.

Wow. This is a dramatic difference — it’s so insanely bright! I don’t even mind the arches in the upper cabinets when they’re white !

I would definitely hire a pro if you plan to paint those cabs. The wood grain might show through and ruin the overall effect. New doors without the curved raised panels and in a more paintable wood might be the way to go.

We might just recommend updating the lighting and painting the walls a lighter color. Once those two things are done, you could try to add updated hardware.
