lars I have a ghost photo question....
Comments (9)Stacy, after looking at the photo more closely, I think my first statement was wrong. If the guy had moved, he would be blurred, and there is no blurring. I'm sorry for making a hasty judgement, but as you can imagine, I've been very distracted lately. I'm not sure why part of him became transparent, but I am now convinced that there is something strange going on in the picture. What's important about the picture is that the edge of his shoulder and arm is sharp, yet transparent. I think it's a very interesting photo, and I think you should submit it to some paranormal sites. My original explanation is definitely incorrect, now that I look at it more closely. The edge of the transparent region is somewhat fuzzy, but that is understandable. BTW, I went to an awards banquet at the Waldorf Astoria back in 1992 (December), which was the coldest weather I've ever experienced. It was 31° with a tremendous wind chill from the strong winds howling down the avenues. It wasn't so cold on the streets, but the avenues were unbearable. I walked four blocks from my hotel to the Waldorf, and I thought I was going to die! Obviously, I didn't walk back! Lars...See MoreLars, I'm thinking of you
Comments (47)I also think the infection is better than the kidney stones, providing the infection is cured before it does any damage. At this point, I don't even want to think about it, and I'm having a hard enough time trying to figure out how I will manage what I need to get done in Texas. On top of that, my boss wants me to take work with me to Texas, even though (as I discussed with the COO), I do not have any pressing or urgent projects that must be finished right away - I'm caught up for the present. I told her I would be taking my laptop, but it does not have AutoCAD on it, and so I cannot do any working drawings. I have not tried installing any other drawing programs, but I might do that eventually. Because the laptop has Windows 7, a lot of programs simply will not install, including my astrology program, and that was one of the main programs I wanted to use on it. For now, I'm just using it for music, pictures, internet, and movies, and so it is more for entertainment than work. Sony Entertainment gave Kevin a laptop so that he could work at home, and he will be taking his as well. I do not expect to feel up to working on furniture designs while I am in Texas, especially with the heat. Lars...See MoreAppropriate and Beautiful - Thank you Lars
Comments (44)Those bowls are gorgeous, Lars. I'll have to show them to DH so he gets inspired. He's learning to turn bowls on his lathe. For his first project he started out with a big chunk of wood...it's now about 3" in diameter, lol....See MoreThank You Lars and Kevin
Comments (7)Here are some trees from the Olivas de Oro ranch. Kevin took this photo because I kept forgetting to take my camera with me. Olive trees need a lot of space, as they drain a lot of nutrients from the soil. There are a few oak trees still interspersed among the olive trees. Annie, there are a lot of places to go for olive oil tasting. I found out that there is a very good olive farm in Ojai, less than an hour from L.A. Ojai is a delightful town with nice restaurants, spas, and beautiful countryside. There are also olive farms in Temecula, where there are vineyards as well. I think Kevin and I will go there soon, as it is an easy day trip - we've been to Ojai several times, but will go back also. Ann, I do think that bread (especially your sourdough) is a very good way to appreciate the olive oil. I especially like the Arbequina Reserve for its fruity flavor, but I also like the Mission Reserve, which was one of my favorites. The Arbequina won a silver award, but I did not know that at the time I bought it. Annie, I look forward to your next visit to California! Lars...See MoreLars
