My wall is a bit narrower than yours -- It's is only about 55" on which toilet and pedestal sink currently sit side by side. The room is pretty tiny overall - just a rectangle which is 2/3 toilet and vanity space/ 1/3 shower space. We actually had a similar situation in another bathroom that we already renovated -- dimensions more like yours, and there we decided to move the toilet into line with the sink. While the wall hung toilet you are considering will make a difference with the perception of greater space, we found that being able to look through all the way to the back wall (we have a shower in the back of each space with glass door to not obscure the view) seems to work for us. We are not as concerned about the size of the vanity here because it is for guests. Do you have a shower to consider as well? Can you use one of the free computer aided drawing programs to make a drawing of what you want your layout to be? After this conversation, I think I am going to be trying to do a drawing too. You have two options. Cut the cabinet off square, at any depth you chose, which will allow you to reuse the existing door and face frame as is. Or cut it off at any angle you chose. As for the door. If you chose to use the existing door then you will need to cut new wider stylea at the angle that the cabinet was.

I do want, essentially, a trough sink, though all the ones I have looked at have been far to narrow (6-8 inches) for my purpose. I want a long, as deep (front to back) as I can get sink to do prep work in. I appreciate the info and comments but a wall mounted or faucet mounted on the end is not going to happen. I don't want a faucet like that, I just want to find a decent sink that is 15-16 inches front to back and 20-25 inches side to side. If anyone else has found or has a sink like that, I would love the info.

Well, blow me down! That looks familiar! I used to trade stuff that I had done or had in my stash to a local shop here in Maine. When I saw this years ago, I just had to have it. It's in my basement still looking just like this. I've reach the point where if something comes upstairs, something else has to leave.
