Please help...I'm pulling my hair out over these bathrooms
Comments (21)for some reason, i stopped getting emails about the follow-ups. thank you so much for the ideas everyone. gmp3- i didn't even think about gray with green!! i love that print. i have dorian gray in the living room and hall so it would def be easier to continue the gray into the bathroom. would it be too dark? there is no window. I also have revere pewter in another bedroom so I can use the left over. I was planning on using revere pewter in the yellow bathroom. we decided on this tile for the kitchen and hall: 'canyon expresso' from lowes, would this work as well? I'd love to be able to use all the stuff we already have as it would really help us on the cost and labor. i love that vanity, and i can't find it. please send me a link. thanks again....See MoreHelp! Comments (10)You are wise to ask questions becasue you have a serious systems issue priority. This is classic example of why everyone needs to get your appliance specs and HVAC and electricians involved before beginning to design, especially if you want the commercial sized gas ranges. (Which you did.) Not every home can or should have gas or oversized appliances. Choosing the commercial lines adds huge costs for ventilation safety. Most people have no idea that a fan is as important as any other appliance. Call a few MORE HVAC companies and get them out to look and get some quotes. I cannot imagine any one with a gas ticket is putting in a line without checking the whole home balance, including the fan over your gas range and the range you chose. You simply cannot have gas without direct venting. You may have to compromise your range and change your BTU's or even go to induction. You need to hire a local Kitchen and Bath designer who will work with the HVAC contractor to get what you need and hopefully what you want. There are far too many details that are not even listed by yourself to address on line. Realistically, any advice here should be to have another qualified tradesperson look at it on site and work from there. This is one area where Houzz advice is not beneficial compared with a qualified tradesperson on site. Once you have this resolved and can pick the best appliance for your needs and wants then... we design. Best wishes and good on you for sharing your dilemma....See MoreDecorating dilemma
Comments (44)I wouldn't put anything under the niches and especially not two different kinds of things plus a table away from the wall by the door. If you want an elegant look in this space, I think less is more. I might paint the walls on the back of the niche a darker shade or different color and the shelf a lighter or darker shade and then put all my effort into art. You might be able to put a minimal console between the door and the niche if you really need a landing space, but I would really resist the urge to over-furnish the space....See Morekitchen peninsula design help. I’m probably overthinking!!
Comments (8)You need 24” per stool, so the more space you take from that, the tighter it will be. Less than that and only small kids will be comfortable. Adding an end panel will make it feel tight too, no matter how narrow, because the person at the end can’t swing their legs out to the side to get in and out of the seat. I liked the panel look too but opted against it for that reason. Our peninsula is 61” with 2 stools...See Moredecoenthusiaste
