Some other rugs I was looking at -

I was just trying to tie the colors of the armchair with the rug. If you have any other suggestions, I'm welcome to them. TIA for your help!

where did you find the rugs? Some of the online sites have a "try it in your room" feature, so you could either upload a real photo of your room to their website to try or try placing the rugs in your mock-up.

My initial reaction to the first rug is that the colors seem to work, but it looks too close in color/value to the print in the chair. They look too much the same to my eye. And the teal in all three seems like it adds another element that isn't really a part of your room any other place (that I can see).

Is the red in the chair really a red or pink or orange? Are the walls as green as they look in the mock up (on my monitor at least)?

I don't know if any of these would work or appeal to you...

IMO, the pastel rugs are too lackluster. You have chosen a dark coffee table. Look for a rug that works with it, as much as the patterned chair.

I love Olychick's first option. Or make the daker gray the dominant color.

Both rugs compliment your religious art. The botanicals do not go in the scheme.

Pillows: just too cutesy.

Thank you so much for all your input. I don't have the pillows. I wanted to bring some aqua/light teal into the room, so was trying to get a feel of how they would look. Is it the pom-poms that make it too cutesy or is it the color? I'll try to post a pic of the actual room soon. I'm afraid a dark rug would make the room too dark. I want to keep the room as bright and airy as possible. The botanical print was to simulate another art piece that I have (gifted) which is anyway too small for the room. Eventually it'll have to go.

I even thought about slipcovering the patterned chair.

The room is large and I'm not really sure what to do with it. There is a lot of space on either side of the seating area which I am at a loss what to do with. There is also a wall to the left of the patterned chair where the religious art is and where I'm thinking of a putting a console table. The first picture is taken from the dining room which adjoins this room, the 2nd from the entryway.

To answer Olychick, all the rugs are of the Safavieh brand. I did use the See in Your Room where available and still couldn't decide/wasn't convinced they worked, hence this post :). The red is actually a dark rust color, orangish red but more red than orange. I liked both the first and red rugs you posted. Can you please post links to those? I guess I was leaning so hard towards the blue colors that I didn't think of a red rug. Thanks so much!

Do you think you could give me some blue or grey options too? I actually tried an ivory/grey option that I returned because it just looked dirty to me.

I'll come back with the links. I have to run out, but I googled gray and red rugs and images, so you might be able to find them that way. I like the last one you posted, too!

Too blue? Too bright of a red? Reviewers' pics looked way darker.

Well the great thing about a HD rug is it's much easier to return to the store than some of the online dealers. If you have to order one from anywhere, buy the smallest size they have to try the colors - much easier to return -then order the larger one. I'll get the links for you from the one I posted.

eta: Neyland rug I don't know anything about this site, but you might be able to find it on other sites, too.

Also, you mentioned how large the space is...you don't have to have the sofa backed right up against the window/wall. Pull it out a bit so all the furniture is a bit more toward the center of the room; it's fine to have some breathing room back there. Or pull it out farther and place a sofa table back there with a lamp or two on it. The room looks so bright and light, I don't think you have to worry to much about a rug darkening it.

I got a notification from houzz that you updated this post, so I was hoping you had pics of a new rug, but when I came to look, it says it was updated 15 days ago. Sheesh, this site is so wonky!
