Exterior Hardware within Kitchen matching with Kitchen hardware?

I know I'm supposed to wait until the end to pick my kitchen hardware and I'm planning to. But I need to install the new door out to my patio which is in the middle of the kitchen before the siding is finished so I need some exterior door hardware. On the exterior I'm probably getting brushed nickel to go with the front door which is red and my new siding is dark grey with a black room. I'm leaning toward getting polished chrome on the inside of my patio door but there are a bunch of metals going on in my kitchen so I'm a bit worried.

Here is my kitchen layout so you can see where the door is in relation to everything else.:

I'm getting Cambria Annica for my countertop which has flecks of gold/black/purple and some grey to it within the swirls with a white background.

Cabinets will be white, with a walnut island and a walnut hood.

Appliance are stainless steel and I'm getting the older Monogram 36" range which has been in a warehouse for 18 months waiting for this reno to get going.

I'm leaning toward the Amerock Blackrock in Oil Rubbed Bronze to mimic the shape of the handle on my range and the geometric shape on the elongated hex white backsplash I'm doing. I'm going to use the knob as well.

My husband actually likes the gunmetal amerock hardware more than the oil rubbed bronze but I worry about the fact that it shows fingerprints and I worry that the brass light will be out of place without the bronze hardware to help tie in the warmer color of those fixtures.

So I'm curious if people feel that the oil rubbed bronze makes the most sense for the cabinets and then my bigger question is what to get for hardware for my door, which is 15 lite. I hadn't been thinking about the kitchen hardware and it has brushed nickel hinges, although I could change out.. Exterior will be brushed nickel but for the interior I was wondering if I could get away with polished chrome? Are the faucets enough to tie it in? That way if I decide to go with the gunmetal hardware I'm covered? And it works with the hinges? I worry a bit about it being too shiny.. Or should I change out the hinges and go with an oil rubbed bronze knob? to match with the probably hardware I'm going with and forget about the gunmetal alltogether...

We're looking at this knob., which also comes in oil rubbed bronze. I assume it doesnt matter that I'm getting brushed nickel for my front door since they're nowhere near each other?.

I think your door hardware (lever/knob) and hinges should match the other door hardware in the house in both color and style. When choosing my cabinet hardware I never worried about the color/style of the door hardware ... but that is assuming you have a consistent theme/vision for the whole house, so things don't have to match, but they do have to complement each other.

@chispa thanks! It gets even more confusing for the other door hardware because there are actually crystal knobs. House is from 1920. We're planning to use a crystal knob in the front to match the rest of the knobs, with a brushed nickel backplate on the first floor (and probably aged brass on the 2nd because that is. But because this is a keyed lock in the kitchen we cant do a crystal knob... That said there is only one door beside the front door on the 1st floor (to our master bedroom) so I guess we could keep the crystal only to the top floor where there are existing knobs we need to match) Because there is brushed nickel elseware, I could do brushed nickel in the kitchen but thats just another metal in the kitchen which seems like overkill?

Sorry, ORB = oil-rubbed bronze! :) Our backdoor hardware is oil-rubbed bronze, which I hated at the start of our remodel, but which actually looks more at home now that it's done--it plays off of the black fixtures, I think. (We also replaced the door with a stained rather than painted door, which helped a lot too--so rather than "random finishes," we have the nickel on the cabinets, the ORB on the stained door, the brass on the painted doors/windows, and the black on the lights and accents (stove grates are black here too). Plus I totally forgot about the stainless hood, so yeah, we are not sticklers for matching finishes! (We do also have an older house, though, which I think gives us a little more freedom for finishes to vary than a newer house where everything was matchy-matchy to start with--even our windows and doors with original hardware vary in that some of the hardware and hinges have been painted over and are now "white" and some of the hardware is still brass.) Our kitchen is not open to any room except our breakfast nook, so we did match the fixture finishes there. But I don't think we needed to do that, necessarily. I would wait on your dining room fixture till the kitchen is done and see how you feel about matching versus not at that point.

There has been lots of threads on this recently. It's not necessary to match the whole house. It's sometimes not even necessary to match hardware to lighting if done properly. I am doing shaker white cabinets also in my remdodel with stainless appliances and polished nickel cabinet hardware and faucet. The hardware in the pendant lights above my penninsula will be black. My penninsula chairs and kitchen chairs are also black, so it will will all tie together and allow for a little pop of style and contrast with the lighting without it looking misplaced. If you look at inspiration pictures on houzz.com you'll see lots of island lighting that does not coordinate with the cabinet hardware. Have fun with it and go with what you love!

My french doors are very close to the kitchen. If I were to go with coordinating the ORB kitchen cabinet hardware with the french door hardware, my concern is that the ORB door hardware I have seen is more black then brown. THe ORB I have in the kitchen is a deep bronze (brown) and that's what I prefer. SO my question is there an ORB door hardware that is more brown than black and if so which manufacture is it?

I sampled it on my existing cabinets and it was the least bright from about 10 blues I found. At first I didn’t think it was bright enough. So many blues! This is an old photo but you can see it on the cabinet. I love the brass as well!
