Coordinating ORB Kitchen cabinet hardware with door hardware.

I have ORB kitchen cabinet hardware. The color is a rich brown by Top Knots. The kitchen opens to the family room where I need to put in door handles for my sliding french doors (with lites). The ORB door hardware seems to be more black than brown. Any suggestions for manufacturer whose ORB is more brown? Or is there another hardware finish color that I should consider? I am getting very anxious about this as I need to make a decision ASAP. I really do not want to have handles that are almost black. My doors are an off white and my color scheme is browns, creams, and muted yellow.

Also, any suggestions for where to find attractive door handles for my sliding french doors would also be appreciated.

How close are the French doors to the cabinets? Would you really be able to see a difference?

I used ORB in the kitchen. The cabinet hardware is Avante, the door hinges are Emtek, and the door knobs are Quickset. They all match.

My french doors are very close to the kitchen. If I were to go with coordinating the ORB kitchen cabinet hardware with the french door hardware, my concern is that the ORB door hardware I have seen is more black then brown. THe ORB I have in the kitchen is a deep bronze (brown) and that's what I prefer. SO my question is there an ORB door hardware that is more brown than black and if so which manufacture is it?

My ORB knobs and cup pulls from cripedistributing.com arrived yesterday. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the knobs (surprised how heavy they are) and the finish. I was another one who didn't want something too coppery or black. My initial thought on ordering was that they could just be "temporary" until I found the perfect knob but they might just be it! The quality of my blue tape knobs and pulls just haven't held up all that well so I am more than happy to replace them. Although the selection is severely limited the price just can't be beat. I want to say thank you to the original poster that posted the link many, many months ago - yet another purchase based on recommendations from this forum.

Like Happytobehome, I think for your kitchen I would do the SS sink and faucet and then go with ORB or other brass for the hardware. Our cabs are white, hardware is a matte black, the faucet is a Grohe Ladylux Plus SS with a black head, and the sink is Silgranit (Anthrocite - white is ugly) with a black countertop. The hardware looks really striking against the white. We will have yellow subway tiles for backsplash to bring some color into the mix. I don't like matching everything but I do like it when all the bits and pieces coordinate nicely.

I also have ORB interior door hardware and most light fixtures, was originally going to do ORB cabinet hardware but decided to do polished chrome for the cabinet hardware at the last minute (I also have white shaker cabinets and honed carrera counters). I agree that it is personal preference, but have to say I am so glad that I did the polished chrome. It really "pops" but isn't the focal point like I feel the ORB in the picture above is.

I always thought all the metal finish in the kitchen have to match but it turned out fine when I mixed them! I always like everything matchy matchy. But not in this case. I have all ss appliances (fridge, hood, dw, ovens, and thin ss trim on my cooktop), my knobs/pulls, peninsula pendants are polished nickel and the faucet/instant hot/disposal buttons are chrome. I guess since those items are not close to each other makes them fine!

Have you looked at knobs.com or vandykes.com

Van Dykes restoration has a wide selection of door hardware as well as many, many other great items including a copper claw foot tub. I think you will love this site and more than likely find what you are looking for. Good luck.

We have hardware called Better Home. It is not the best, or most expensive, but I have loved the brownish/copper look of this ORB. My contractor had a friend that sold the product.

This is the only close-up that I have of an interior knob.

Here I show you a doorknob next to my brown stained door for comparison.
