Should kitchen cabinet hardware coordinate with sink and faucet?

I am at the stage of selecting my cabinet hardware. I have creamy white cabinets including cabinetry covering my dishwasher and trash pullout. I am thinking of selecting hardware in the burnish brass to german bronze family; not exactly sure yet. In addition, I haven't quite firmed up my choice of sink and faucet, but was going to go with ss. What do you think about that combination? I know my DH would like a ss sink. With that in mind I would then go with a stainless faucet. So the question is how does a ss sink and faucet go with the cabinet hardware that I am thinking of. Need to make a decision ASAP. Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

I have a stainless steel prep sink, polished nickel faucet, and satin nickel cabinet hardware. I think they look great together. I don't like matchy-matchy.

They don't need to match. If you're really really picky about matchy matchy, you're actually safer with two totally different finishes like you're thinking of than similar but not quite the same finishes.

My french doors are very close to the kitchen. If I were to go with coordinating the ORB kitchen cabinet hardware with the french door hardware, my concern is that the ORB door hardware I have seen is more black then brown. THe ORB I have in the kitchen is a deep bronze (brown) and that's what I prefer. SO my question is there an ORB door hardware that is more brown than black and if so which manufacture is it?

Satin nickel would be fine with the stainless sink. Chrome (my personal preference) would work just as well. Black for cabinet pulls and knobs will relate nicely to the black counters. While the darker granite composite sinks are pretty indestructible, the white and cream ones stain easily and are harder to clean. If I were only choosing white/cream sink, I would get enameled cast iron. I don’t think a white sink will look that great with the OP’s choice of counter. To the OP - Cambria Skara Brae is a pretty contemporary look. I would choose a black granite composite sink like the Blanco Silgranit anthracite color to set it off, and I’d choose a polished faucet finish like polished chrome (not a brushed finish) so that the faucet gleams like jewelry on black velvet with the counter and black sink. Here are photos of the OP’s choice of counter. I could only find pics of it with stainless steel sinks which the OP says she doesn’t want.

I am in the same boat, SS Appliances/Sink, I would like to have a bronze facuet to match the hardware. I would love to see some pics!

I have stainless sink and faucet, and oil-rubbed bronze cabinet hardware. It's fine to mix and match, although I wouldn't choose too many different finishes.

The knobs can be considered "jewelry" or accents, so that don't mean to.

Remember 25 years ago when kitchen faucets came in chrome, chrome, (and maybe white). They didnt have to worry about it then :)

I'm doing chrome faucet, soapstone sink, pewter hardware, SS appliances, and antique black light fixtures. I did matchy matchy in my last kitchen, and I did like it, but I'll like this one just as much.

Like Happytobehome, I think for your kitchen I would do the SS sink and faucet and then go with ORB or other brass for the hardware. Our cabs are white, hardware is a matte black, the faucet is a Grohe Ladylux Plus SS with a black head, and the sink is Silgranit (Anthrocite - white is ugly) with a black countertop. The hardware looks really striking against the white. We will have yellow subway tiles for backsplash to bring some color into the mix. I don't like matching everything but I do like it when all the bits and pieces coordinate nicely.

I'm doing a SS sink and polished chrome faucet. I've ordered white painted cabinets and will have either ORB or Black hardware. I like when things complement each other but don't match. But in another kitchen I did the same sink and faucet and I put up polished chrome hardware. That looked good too.

It's what you like. These things all go well together. Now I wouldn't have everything different like a siligranite sink, ORB faucet and some other finish on the hardware. That would be too many different finishes.
