OK, this was harder than I thought...I can't help but post more than one...I'll let you decide which came out best.

Annie, beautiful shots . you all know my passion for watching sunrise and sunset. Growing up we had no tv, and that was a joyful time for all of my family gathered on porch. We would already be in the field or barn working as the sun came up. When sun was going down we knew it was end of our day. When I watch ships leaving port, I think about the countries where they are sailing.

It is hard. I used to have a darkroom and did a lot of B&W and color slide development. Virtually none of those efforts have made it into my digital library. Now I’m mostly point and shoot and occasionaly I get a surprise.

This was a quick snap that turned out well. No composition to speak of. Just point and shoot. A Dragonfly on a Daylily. You can see how transparent its wings are.

I don't know that this is the best, because I am not much of a photographer, but this pic came to mind. It is about 10 yrs old and one of my all time favorite cats, whose name was Bindi, sleeping on a pile of feed sacks In wheelbarrow.

By now you all know that bugs are my favorite picture taking subject. And yes, Annie it is hard to choose.

Not the best, but a great favorite. My old pal watching me getting ready to hang some pictures in my

office. He followed me everywhere and knew exactly what I was doing at all times. :) Sure

miss my sweet buddy. Picture taken in 2005..in a different house and State. He was only 5

at the time.

Queen Anne's Lace -- I like the softened background. Spice was amazing cute as a puppy (and is still so photogenic). The double yellow sunflower is a family heirloom plant, and I like the green bug on it. This picture captures the trust Shasta has in my DH and the love they have for each other.

This was a special moment on my English Gardens Tour a few years ago when I befriended the lady in pink, who was at Rosemoor Garden to celebrate her 100th birthday with her daughter, the the lady in lavender. I'm the American-looking one in the middle. Obviously, I didn't take this picture. A fellow traveler took it for us.

OOPS - I thought this was "photo that meant a lot to you" day. Now I see it was "one of the best you've taken" day. What a dork I am!

marilyn_c, the double sunflower is Helianthus x multiflorus 'Flore-pleno' -- easy from seed but it's also perennial.
