The fragrance of peonies, lilacs and hyacinths is heavenly.

Peonies, Lily of the Valley, Ornamental Sweet Peas, Roses, the spicy scent of the Carnation family. Oh so many pleasant smells. This is one that fills my neighborhood each June. Three huge old Catalpa Trees grow around me.

^I see a sign that says "Bromeliad" but I do not see a bromeliad. Do you know what kind of flower that is?

My only complaint is that they take so darn long getting here. I have three germinated and ready to go in another month. Still won't get to see them for another couple of months at least. So wonderful! Although one of my favorite summer fragrances is basil. Nothing more heavenly to let me know I'm in the thick of summer than basil warmed in the sun with its heady fragrance.

Lars, I was there with the grand kids, and took the picture with the sign to sort out later... but forgot to delete it before posting. I have no idea what it is.

Peonies have wonderful blossoms. Its too bad the bloom is short lived. Mine blooms once in early summer and for the remainder of the year, it just a plant that occupies space. On the plus side, they are hardy, have survived some awful winters, and are easy to transplant.

Thank you! After several years of giving cards we both realized we really only liked very few cards every year so I came up on the idea of handing back and forth the ones we liked.
