I like the peachy-yellow one with the ruffled gold edge and chartreuse throat. I'd be delighted to see one like that in my seedling patch! Laurel

Gale: You echo my experience and sentiments exactly. When I first got into daylilies I was soooo disappointed when they either melted away in our heat and/or faded to bleached out blobs by late afternoon. Indian Giver, Clothed in Glory were prime examples. I'm used to reading between the lines in rose catalogs (if it doesn't mention a strong fragrance, it's because there is none), but didn't stop to think that daylilies would have their own "unspoken" limitations. Since then a daylily that is sunfast (doesn't melt in the heat) and colorfast (retains a recognizable amount of the original color) are very high on my agenda. Finding both in one daylily is challenging, as most breeders don't bother to mention such things in their sales pitch for new introductions. Why would they skip telling you about those much sought after traits? Do you think they forgot? Maybe they don't think others find it important? Well, I do...It's one of my pet peeves in the daylily world when you can't even get a full day out of a $200.00 daylily......BTW, Dutch Yellow Truffle is an award winner and deservedly so...........Maryl

Kate - FVS is a prolific rebloomer. Some years, it's had three cycles of bloom. It's good to know the mums can rebloom if sheared back. Julia - The mum overwinter here until we get a winter with zero temps, and then they die out. They're really doing great in the red bed, with five of them growing together to make a huge flowery mound. I'll take a photo when the whole thing is in bloom. Heidi - Because of the grandparentage of Ain't Misbehavin, it could be the other parent of the late seedling. But Mister Bubbles is right in front of W. Good Old Days, and Techny Peach Lace used to be in back of it, and both of those are late bloomers. I would love to sell FVS to my Gardenweb friends! Nan - I'm always when thrilled when a seedling turns out to be a late bloomer. There are just too few good lates. That's a good idea to cross the Karelia Seedling with Ruby Lipstick, or my Ruby Lipstick baby. Debra

Kate - The Dancing Flamingo seedling has at least 16 buds, maybe more when they are all showing. My rule of thumb is anything with at least 10 buds when it first blooms goes on to have good bud count in the future. It's an instant selected seedling. Julia - The petal color on the Dragonfly Dawn kid is light yellow. It looks cream in the shade and the morning light. The flowers are not as large as Dragonfly Dawn, but the scapes are taller than what I've gotten on DD over the years, as it's always been very short for me. It was crossed with a semi-evergreen and I think this seedling is also semi-evergreen, so maybe a bit hardier than DD. Debra
