My guess from other comments I have read here in the past is that most people are going to ask why you need a 48" range.

We have 4 children & 1 w/ numerous food allergies so sometimes I make her something separate annnnnd I like the way it looks😬

I personally like 48 inches because you can have the central griddle on all the time for grilled cheese, bacon, pancakes etc, and still have plenty of burners. I don’t have mine yet but I ordered the 48 inch Bluestar. I really wanted a white stove with gold knobs :)

No one should have to justify or explain why they want a certain size range...especially to total strangers. Nicole, I have a 48" dual fuel and i love the stability of an electric oven (cakes) , but the gas burners are my love!

I've had two 48" stoves and my only issue is the oven sizes. For my cooking style I always find one oven too big and the other too small. When I remodeled I added a third oven, a Miele convection steam XXL and use that 90% of the time. I am planning another kitchen and for that one I will go to a 36" range and a Miele CSO XXL, which makes more sense for us at this stage in life.

Having those 3 ovens was great for holidays and parties!

I think the reason so many question the 48” is to find out the thought behind the decision. Not to be nosy or nasty, but to be able to give the best advice. For example, two weeks after we moved into our latest house, the range the previous previous owners left caught fire. As we were leaving in two days for a three week trip and planned to gut and remodel the kitchen the following year, if I had asked you all for a recommendation, you would have been able to give me advice specific to my immediate needs. And for the record, that $400 30” range we bought had only one flaw- the wires of oven racks were too far apart to prevent baked goods from falling onto the oven floor. The oven baked perfectly and the four burners were hot enough. However, the total remodel saw a 36” Thermador all gas replacing the $400 cheaply. The more exact information we have, the better and more accurate advice we can give.

@Sissyphus we just had 2 new 100 AMP electrical panel boxes installed w/ a sub-panel added in basement for 2 new HVAC units. Is that sufficient or should I contact the electrician?

I would skip the Fisher and Paykel. My subjective choice is the Aga, known as a Falcon in its home country, so you can see reviews from the UK. I prefer induction to gas and love the look of the Aga. Next choice would be Thermadore, though if I were getting a gas range, I would get a Blue Star, hands down.

I can fit full size sheet pans in my 48”, so we’re very excited to be able to bake 6 doz cookies at one time, woohoo!

It really depends on what styles of cooking and baking, how often, for how many and what you want to be able to do in the future.

Personally I would stay far away from DF. My first priority is a good all gas range and a very close second is a good electric wall oven (ideally w/ moisture control). On the other hand some people love having a DF.

In our case, after a lot of research and experience, we have a 48" Bluestar RNB w/ a 24" griddle.
