Oh...that's just perfect! We are just about to start renovating 3 bathrooms, and I want to do a very SIMILAR approach to the basement bathroom. Cept we are thinking of replacing the tub with a shower for hot tub guests to use (kids have grown up and left home, and when visiting shower anyways). May I ask you why you bumped out the counter for the sink? Was there a functional reason, or for aesthetics? (Looks very pretty) I'd leave the wood trim natural. You have tied in quite well with your baskets, and I assume from the outside hallway it goes with the rest of the house.

I'm very sorry I did not answer the questions from the last few years... I've been out of reno mode for a while :) It's probably too late, but here are the replies: @walkin_yesindeed - the vanity finish has held up just fine. However, it's not the original paint. We sanded and re-painted with new Ben Moore bathroom paint. No issues with dampness (we do run the fan for every shower, though.) @kirkhall - I have NOT been happy with the touted un-stainable-ness of the epoxy grout on the floor. I mean, it's better than regular grout, but it didn't stay white no matter how much I cleaned it. It looks fine, since the tile is multi-toned, but it's definitely not still white. The shower grout, however, has held up extremely well. @SparklingWater - I don't recall the demo being terribly difficult, but that may be because I knew what to expect from other parts of the house. It was tile over a dense cement. @MrsD - I think the grout color is standard white. @MayaEoff - Our tub is the standard 30" size.

I just went to look at my light fixture situation and realized ... duh ... I can't re-orient my fixture to face up because if I did, the top of the shades would be maybe 2" from the ceiling. Not going to work. Plus, there is a ceiling fan/vent very close to the fixture, so that complicates matters more. Bottom line, I need to keep a downward-facing fixture. We have a lot of Rejuvenation Fixtures throughout our house so I'm poking around their web site now. This bathroom was part of a big addition with kitchen, family room, etc., several years ago. By the time I got around to making decisions for this little room, I was so DONE, I just went to the Pottery Barn catalog and picked the current light and mirror and although it's been fine, I've never been quite thrilled with them. So, time for a change. And this is sort of funny. I'm looking at the Rejuvenation site and check out the mirror they have (see link). Looks familiar! Is that a sign? As you can see I like every thing, even all the lovely comments, lol. If you become old in this place, you can always buy a grab bar that straddles the tub edge. Love the vertical bar at the business end of the shower. Love the quiet look. Though the old look was rather quaint, this is so nice and more durable. I too have a Bellwether tub. I have the smaller sized, I think you do too. I do bath in it from time to time, but it isn't a soaking tub. I think it would be a great tub for a shower. Mine is just a tub installation, with a facet and handheld unit. It has a tile surround with grab bars so it can handle the random spray. Mine is more for kids and pets. Nice size for kids. Love the colors too. Warm neutrals, well paired.
