Please ease (or reinforce) my fears on dated kitchen
Comments (26)Exactly what hpny2 said! How would companies stay in business if they didn't change things and lead us to believe we need something new. Honestly, this kitchen/thread has been going around in my head all day and I really can't think of more conservative choices to buy and put in a kitchen then this builder chose. I mean white cabinets have been in style forever while difference wood cabinet trends have come and gone. I can remember my SIL getting the "pickled wood" cabinets in her new home then quickly hating them when HGTV had all the deep dark wood stains in their shows. I have an old kitchen that was redone in the 90s with a white tile back splash, the tile back splash is just as much in style today as it was 20 years ago! I have a basic white with spots in it counter, it's still stylish although not granite but it doesn't look dated....See MoreCraigslist fails...
Comments (414)I love this thread!!! and I've wasted hours and hours searching my local craigslist for something to contribute. This 'table for sale' post should do nicely. :) Table for sale Selling brown circular glass table the brown base is as shown in the photo and the 4 chairs are similar to the base the glass is very thick and it is circle...See MoreThat Darn Cat!
Comments (41)I love my boys to death, even the stuff that has broken is actually the human's (me usually) fault. The chair going down the steps could have been avoided if I had anticipated that it could happen and told my cleaning lady.. The next day when I looked down the stairs and saw what could have happened my stomach lurched. If the chair had come down on Simba's spine it could have killed him. Thank God cats are quick and agile. Catty & Sas, I can't imagine ever getting desensitized from seeing a poor kitty back at the SPCA. Shredded toilet paper? Have at it Simba and Toby. It would be a lot cheaper than my other damage. BTW, I bought some pretty melamine plates for both the pups and kitties today. I have been using an ugly plastic plate since they broke their china plate last week. I don't expect any more broken plates but if it happens it happens. I have actually given my Murphy a roll of tp for his birthday but the poor pup had no clue what to do with it. Murphy has been a marker/pee-er all his life. He started from the time we brought him home, weaned from his mama. There was no way I was going to give up on him so Belly Bands to the rescue. I use to look at him and say "Murphy you're going to end up at the hound pound" but no way would it happen. When you adopt an animal you take on the good and the bad! Murphy will be eight on September 14th, my KoKo will be eleven in two days, and Simba and Toby, who didn't have a birthday listed when I adopted them will be one probably late May so I'm giving them my Mom's birthday, May 27th. Annie, I am going to look on Amazon for museum putty. Doesn't it ruin the finish on furniture though? I put my Waterford vase away after it was knocked to the floor. I want to give it to my DD but with a pup and three young children in her home it probably is safer in my antique cabinet. Thanks for the catio suggestion. I have quite a few pinned to my Pinterest account. I love them. What a great idea!...See MoreHelp me choose chairs to go with a 17th century dining table!
Comments (118)Hey fellow chair lovers! So, i made a decision 😬 i ordered 2 arch chairs from Sarah Ellison. And I got the big hairy light 😅 we obviously went over budget on the chairs, but they were just exactly right for me. I love the molded seat and postmodern column legs against the tables curves. we’ll do a bench at the back side (still considering a built in) Pictures below of the chairs, the light and a little mock up I did. Thanks again for such a fun and informative thread!...See MoreIdaClaire
