Please ease (or reinforce) my fears on dated kitchen

EmmJay

I'm buying a brand new spec townhome and closing next week, and I fear that my kitchen will be dated before I even get my keys. I've attached some photos, but these are the deadly sins I feel will scream "2010!" within the next year or two:

-White cabinets
-Subway tile backsplash
-Stainless steel appliances
-Dark granite countertops
-Open concept
-Island

Really, I like most of those things. I could do without the open floor plan, but my husband is the cook and he loves it. I'm not crazy about the white cabinets and gray walls, but those builder pendant fixtures are outta there the minute I close, to be replaced with green retro-looking ones. You can't see it behind the island, but there's a family room that will be decorated in a colorful (green dominated) retro style.

Is there any hope, or am I doomed because I'm buying on the cusp of so many trends that seem to have run their course? I had no choice but to get a spec home, and I plan to stay there a long, long time, but watching HGTV has made me very nervous. Am I just paranoid or are those fears justified?
