As you can see the living room is somewhere around 19ftx16ft. I am getting ready to start the framing process next week and have one last opportunity to change my living room window placement that you can see in the image below on the right hand side in the middle. So feel free to move that if you can think of better placement. I love the kitchen window placement but I'm not sold on the Living Room window placement. I'm open to ideas about furniture/couch layout for the living room as well, as I will buying some new furniture for the house. We will have a TV in the basement and our "hope" is to have no TV on the first floor (but we have never lived without one on the first floor so there is a good chance we may put a TV back in the living room at some point and it would be nice to have an option to rearrange for both situations). Also there is currently no centerpiece or fireplace or anything that things will need to be arranged around. I thought this open layout looked great but now I'm panicking a bit, any advice?

Thanks for the comments. I forgot to mention I plan to remove the wine fridge but then the cabinets still only partly go under one window. We definitely needed more room for the table and I think I like the idea of running it parallel to French doors. Or possibly a round table with an extension for when we have guests. My husband is adamantly against removing windows. Even awkwardly placed ones. We have another picture window that is off balance that I hate in our living room.... but that’s the compromise for me getting to plan everything else :)

Liane there’s brands like mocket that make counter outlets and some make gfic counter outlets too. I just thought you were against the idea is why I didn’t mention it. Anyways, they pop up out of the counter so they aren’t just exposed sitting upwards. On another note, I assumed if you put the outlet on the wall you’d be doing them sideways...I should’ve been more specific and clarified that I think sideways would be best. It just doesn’t look like they will totally fit even sideways, correct?

I realize this is old, but maybe you’ll see it anyways. I also love the look of sconces over the kitchen sink, but we’ve landed back on updating the pendant instead. It’s just easier wiring wise and makes it easier to take the backsplash to the ceiling if we go that route. I honestly think it’s one of those things you agonize over now, then when all is said and done if you’re happy with the style of the updated fixture and whatever window treatment you end up with, you won’t think about the sconces anymore.
