Your fireplace is such a piece of art that we framed it with curtains that are wool lined (dark wool or lining fabric in a dark brown) with a beige fabric for the face of the curtains. WHY? Because the curtains can be easily pulled open and closed. They also allow you to have a full view of the beautiful wooded area outside without blocking the view. And, again they act as a frame for your beautiful fireplace. We have wool lined curtains and they are great for keeping out the cold. Color suggestion is as shown. Giving the room a light and open feeling.

Style: Mid Century Modern dining room/game table. Suggesting an expandable table with leaf insert to accommodate 8 maybe 10 people for diner of game night. We have a round table, we add the leafs in for game night or large group diners. Works really well.

In the rendition you will find the following:

1. One large 5 to 6 seater beige couch

3. Two round MCM coffee tables. We chose two because it is easier to get around and through them to and from the couch.
4. Three trio grouped side tables that can be separated to add extra place settings for beverages and snacks.
5. One large cream colored area rug. To lighten and brighten the room.
6. Two mirrors, one over the beverage bar and one between the two chairs near the bar to add and reflect natural light. They also work as mock windows.
7. One large black framed piece of art over the fireplace to tie in all of the colors in the room.

Amazing! Thank you so much for putting this together - it is above and beyond what I was hoping for. I love what you did with tying the space in front of the fireplace together into a larger seating area - something I hadn't previously considered. I am torn between doing what you proposed (one large seating area) versus having the seating area a bit tighter/closer with the fireplace (less seating, maybe a L or C-shaped couch). The way you proposed definitely makes it a larger and more space for entertaining, whileas the latter might allow traversing "through" the space a little easier.

Also love the drapes! I think I will go with that for sure, possibly even toss in the wood blinds that TanCalGal suggested as well (I like the sconce idea too - were you thinking putting them above the fireplace or on either side of the windows?)

Mae Dae, I also like what you did for the kitchen even if I didn't include exact dimensions there! Currently the kitchen counter is L-shaped which bisects the kitchen/breakfast area on the left, but if I remove that and move the refrigerator, I would regain a lot more storage space on the wall (south side), which is something I'm definitely lacking in the kitchen currently. Also interesting we chose to use a roundtable for the dining area, and use a more formal dining area where I was previously thinking the breakfast/round table would go!

Hello Chet, we actually tried to lay the furniture out in an L shape and C shape and it made traversing the room far more difficult because furniture was in the way and you would have to walk around it to get into the seating area. And it blocked the pathway from the stairs and front door to the dining room and kitchen. We thought about it for quite some time trying to figure out, a seating arrangement that would accommodate 8 to 10 people and allow the room to be open and easy to access from all areas. we can show you what the other looked like but honestly, after a great deal of consideration for your needs this was the best that we could come up with. The tighter seating arrangement left you with a lot of open space on the back wall where the wet bar is right now. Just letting you know because we did try many seating arrangements before presenting this last one. Thank you for getting back to us. We sincerely appreciate it. Best wishes.

Also wanted to mention that the round table in the dining area was suggested as a dual purpose for both dining and gameplay that would be close to the living room area with its fireplace and wet bar. We are suggesting round table that can be expanded to seat 8 to 10 people.
