Thanks for the positive feedback on the teriyaki tacos, and for the eggs and salad for breakfast I posted earlier. Recent meals: Chinese okra done with an Indonesian flair - contains scrambled eggs, Chinese chives, been sprouts and so forth. Chinese okra is not really okra, but in the curcubit family, and tastes very mildly of cucumber. Naturally slime-free. Chinese okra looks like regular okra on steroids - see the second photo. Mini lamb sliders on a bed of lettuce and watercress. I seasoned the sliders with salt, pepper, garlic, turmeric prior to shaping. True okra, done Paleo style: I used coconut flakes to batter them with. There are recipes that use ground almond, but I've developed a sensitivity to many tree nuts. To make them less fat-centric, I also baked them rather than deep frying. I also tested out a way to remove the slime: slice them in half lengthwise, and make sure they are dry when you go to batter and cook them. (Rinse them earlier and allow them to dry.) Here's my offal moment: lamb sweetbreads, with bell pepper, onion, and topped with capers and scallions. Seasoned with lemon, thyme, salt, pepper, garlic. I'm sure this one is not going to be on most people's priority list, but we grew up with offal long before it became "trendy", so I never developed the "ick" factor reaction. (Why I have that reaction to cottage cheese, I just don't know!) Sleevendog, those artichokes look wonderful! (one of my favorite veggies, up there with asparagus!) As well as the miso noodle bowl! Annie, I like a good chili... sounds like a hearty good meal. Innumerable great meals on this thread!

So many great looking meals. 2ManyDiversions. Your smoked cheese turned out great. I showed it to my son, who is the one the loves any kind of cheese but especially smoked. I like the idea of smoking a number of cheeses at the same time. Neely, as much as I love all your meals, I honestly could make a meal of your perfect potatoes. Sleevendog, good choice on the muffin pan. And the cornbread fish are adorable. Shirl, nice flaky crust on your pie. Jasdip, that cake is loaded with apples. Would love a piece for dinner. I can almost taste it. I made smoked chicken sandwiches topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sliced avocado with a garlic mayonnaise from the chicken I smoked last week.

Lots of flavor, right? I've had to ramp up tray production since we snip a couple trays then add some lemon and bit of feta...DH will eat the entire salad well before dinner so I have to make another. Great food value. Not much need for dressings. Like recipes and different ovens, your humidity and home environment will be different....just getting used to the time under weight and how much water you need... The weight during germination is key. Some friends/co-workers would hear a thump when the rock/weight would roll off onto the floor or counter in the middle of the night. The weight gives good contact with the soil so the roots go down not up and sideways...that may be what your middle tray did. Seed density matters. Start a radish tray with more seed than seems needed. Spread them out. Pack down. Date and label. ( I have a sensitive scale) ...but can eye-ball now with my special scoop tool. My perfect method in my home will not be exactly perfect for others homes. Similar with fermentations and your natural yeast in the air...trouble shooting as always.

Thank goodness it made it, 😜 I think shipping may be back to semi-normal. It is a pretty micro. I don't grow cabbage in my summer garden. Takes up so much room and cheap in my markets. Micros all winter pack a very healthy punch. Much more than market grown. Please remember, those I have sent....these seed kits were for charity Fall/Winter/Spring seed kits. Some make cookies, cakes...I make spice blends, salsas, and micro kits. My employer, when I worked, paid for all of it. Gave me a P-card. ...They are cost/money so dumb. They gave me 500 a week, lol. Oh no, I spend 500 a year. Buying bulk. They paid for my freezer. I'm straight forward honest. 90% goes to charity, 10% re-stocks. 5% is in my spice cabinet. Win-win. If I send you seed, I have not paid for it. It is paid by my work p-card. My work does not care how I share it. For the record as most might know now, NewYorkers are abrasive straight forward. No BS.
