Kohler Dickinson apron-front sink vs. Rohl fireclay farmhouse
Comments (10)We have the Dickinson and have been very happy with it. But, Johnliu really did say it best. After drooling over the Rohl I realized I didn't want to shred my nerves over a sink or anything else anymore. I've seen 30 year old cast iron sinks that lived in households with 5 kids and they looked fine. DH all by himself can be the equivalent of 5 kids in the kitchen so I figured I was okay with the Dickinson. Bottom line, I guess, is "know thyself" (as well as the habits of others who will use the sink) and choose accordingly....See Morefireclay farmhouse sink owners...
Comments (21)We have a 30" Shaw's for over 2 years. I love it. I love having the sink so close to me. I bought it local so I could bring marbles with me to see how it drains. I rejected the 1st two. It's still not perfect but much better than the others. No scratches but we have the grid. My DH curses it (since he's the one that cleans it all the time) but I love it. The grid is great - it also gives me another drying rack for dishes....See MoreFarmhouse Sinks: Fireclay or Enamled Cast Iron?
Comments (18)I had the Rohl Fireclay sink for more than a decade in my old house and no problems except for a few tiny chips on the bottom before I purchased the grids. i did feel that I had to baby it a little and was more cautious compared to the Kohler Whitehaven that I have used at my daughters house. The Whitehaven just feels tougher. Do not have to worry about it as much. the Rohl felt “prettier”. Prettier lines inside and out. Especially the apron front. with that I have the 33” Whitehaven is going into my new house. It is large, tough, and pretty. Don’t have to worry about the installer screwing up any scribing like with the Rohl since install is so simple. And just all around a great sink....See MoreDoes the Blanco Profina 36" Fireclay Farmhouse Sink crack?
Comments (0)Does anyone have experience with the mentioned farmhouse sink? I really like the idea of it, but there are a few reviews on Amazon saying that it cracks. https://www.amazon.com/Blanco-523026-PROFINA-Apron-Cutting/dp/B06XHQRJK2/ref=sr_1_5 In theory fireclay is tough and shouldn't crack if you just drop something on it at 2 ~ 3 inch distance, but that's what the reviews say. Any recommendation for another fireclay farmhouse sink, single bowl, 33" - 36" wide, with a cutting board? Thanks....See MoreUser
