Anybody flush mount a fireclay farmhouse sink?
Comments (3)Thanks weedmeister and rococogurl. I know I'm looking at something that is not traditionally done--that's my nature. This a machine made sink so it should not have the irregularities of a hand made sink. The edges are straight not curved like the Shaw sink. I saw one at the store the other day and that is what prompted the question. I guess I should pose this to my fabricator--he's used to my unusual questions. Still would love to hear other's thoughts. Heres a picture of the sink. Here is a link that might be useful:...See More33" white farmhouse single bowl offset drain. Not Rohl or Kohler?
Comments (11)Yes, apron front. But by looking up your sink I now see that Kohler offers the Whitehaven in a short AND tall apron front. Trying to see the exact difference in heights right now. Think it might be 2+" and I think that puts it close to the ones that I like height-wise. And the price is right there---a little over $800. Could be a winner! Thank you! How do you find the enamel cast iron? Durable and non-staining/scratching?...See MoreFarmhouse/Apron Sink Question
Comments (8)The 30" Whitehaven is around $850. If you are working with your older cabinets, the "short apron" style will save money because you won't need to get a new sink base cabinet or spend money having your old cabinet resized / new doors made. If this is a new kitchen with new cabinets, order a farm sink base and get whatever you want, though the Whitehaven is much easier to install than other farm sinks because of the self facing apron front. Use the Whitehaven "tall apron" for a farm sink base. I was doing a refresh and just saved for a few more months to get the sink. I decided I would have it longer than a fridge and it is one of the hardest working parts of the kitchen so I decided for me it was worth the price. The Home Depot and Build.com have about the same price. I don't have a Home Depot nearby and they charge tax:) Funny article about the farm sink search: http://victoriaelizabethbarnes.com/apron-front-farmhouse-sink-options-decided-against-fireclay/...See MoreRohl Allia vs Blanco Profina vs Franke Farm House Sink?
Comments (9)I have had a blanco profina for over a year. I really like it. Haven’t had any issues with cracking. I do have a garbage disposal. The ledge is nice for chopping, and I have a dish drainer that sits on the ledge also. I use a rack in the bottom to protect from pans. Cleaning is a breeze - even easier than stainless sinks I’ve had in the past. I love the way it looks with my white cabinets and countertops. Not sure the centered drain bothers me, but it probably will now that I’ve read your post. At least it will make me think about it. Also I didn’t think I would like one big sink, but I actually do....See MoreRelated Professionals
