What color vanity with white subway tile and black hexagon floor tile
I really, really wanted an MCM natural wood vanity in my bathroom. However, I have specific requirements, right side sink, left side drawers and 36-38" wide. This seems quite impossible to find already made. I've tried to hire someone to make it for me but it's too small for the big guys and the local woodworkers can't get access to wood. So I'm back to square one. There are quite a lot of white and gray vanities but right sink and left drawers is a bit hard to find. Can you give me some ideas on both the vanity and the lighting? Thanks!

Comments (6)Should the grout be the same color? Not necessarily. Will it look weird to use a darker gray on the floor and a lighter gray in the shower? Not at all. Any recommended colors for the shower and floor tiles along these lines? I've been getting stuff at Lowe's and they carry MAPEI Warm gray for the subway tile, and silver for the hex, if you lke a darker grey for the hex. Silver is actually a medium grey, but it'll appear alot darker with the white tile. Our bathroom isn't perfectly square. I think a colored grout seam that is uneven will be really obvious(that's my understanding where you would do any flubbing). Can you grout just the seam white? Can you skip grout and caulk it? Any suggestions here? Grout everything on the floor the same color. it'll actually show up more if you try doing what you suggested. It'll literally draw attention to it. What you want to dpo is make sure that you're square to the most obvious walls from the door. Especially with the hex, it won't be quite as obvious as you think, unless it's WAY out, and then nothing you can do will hide it, even using a blending color grout. One other thing-- that joint where the floor hits the walls should be caulked, but still caulk it with a caulking that matches the grout, both color AND texture. Comments (5)I like the dark floor tile because it matches with the dark glass tile. I think I saw in one of your other posts that your vanity will be a medium wood tone. All the colors would tie in together nicely. The white subway will keep the room looking crisp. Will you have a tub or shower only? I am also deciding on my bathroom tiles. One of my choices is having the same glass tiles like yours, but with glossy taupe colored subway tiles (matching the other glass tile color). I would like to do white subways like you, but we have a rust problem in our water and I'm not sure if I can maintain white grout/tiles. Comments (12)I am in the middle of a similar remodel. Walls and shower are Daltile white subway tile. Vanity is espresso with calcutta top. Walls are BM gray wisp which is the BM equivalent to RH silver sage (gray, green, blue) Tub is Bain ultra basa duo. Toilet is Toto ultramax all in white. Accents are brushed nickel. My floors will be a limestone called mystic green, also called pistachio green. Really not green at all but beigy with a hue (just a hint) of green. It is the limestone with the fossils in it and my kids and I and DH just love how interesting it is, especially with all the white! Comments (27)I have the Subway Ceramics Avalon / Minas with a medium gray grout. And a Shaw's white sink, if anyone is considering that, by the way. (My contractor could have ordered it directly, but at his request, I went through a tile store, and by the time everyone had put their sugar onto it, it was OBSCENELY expensive.) I'm not an installation expert, but at least with the Subway Ceramics, the installers use little plastic spacers between the tiles (I think some others have their own spacers?) when they put them up, they don't do it freehand, so how much grout you get is a function of 1) the limits set by the curvature of the tile and 2) what size spacers they use. So you might be willing to go a little darker with a smaller grout line, or with a handmade tile that refuses to go close together, you might want to stay light. The traditional color is close to concrete. But most modern people don't seem to like that, so do what pleases you!...See More

I'd find a vintage wood chest and modify it to accept the plumbing.find a mcm wood chest, or dresser, (you could paint it if you want, any color) or leave it as wood.
or, just get a right off-set sink (meaning sink on the right side) . I did one here w/this bathroom. the vanity is 36" with a quartz countertop. Do a wall mount faucet for more counter space and easier clean up.
there are a ton of 36" right offset vanities out there. A lot of them come w/countertop and sink.you can do wood, or any color
