Backsplash: any pics of White Subway Tile with Gray Grout?
Comments (6)As glad posted, we used gray grout, but I'm not sure what kind or what color. The tile guy just presented me with the choices and I picked one. I didn't write down what it was. I used flat white subway tiles in the upstairs bedrooms and the first tile guy I had grouted it white (after I had repeatedly told our builder I wanted gray grout). To me, it looked terrible. To me, the pattern is the point of the subway tile and if you don't use a contrasting grout the pattern is lost. Needlesstosay, the tile guy had to dig out all the white grout and start over. We had a new and much better tile guy by the time we got to the kitchen and the laundry....See Morewhite subway backsplash -- what grout color?
Comments (2)I used white grout with an additive (can't remember what it was called) to reduce grout staining-so far no stains. I also chose a machine made tile to reduce the grout line size because I preferred a more monochromatic look. Here is the link. Comments (12)I just put a bathroom floor (yeah, well, someone else did the work, I just did the pattern!) with 1" hex unglazed in white. When the guy helping me said "I can grout tomorrow" I ran to Home Depot to see what sort of gray grout I could get, and the choices were pretty limited. The recommended-by-Bill in that brand was Platinum, and it would have been a special order. I went with a slightly darker grout and it thankfully dried light. I'll snag a photo when I go up to the house later today and post it, even though it's hex and not subway, if you like. I love the way the soft gray accents the tile, and I would have assumed, prior to the Bill/Mongo/Bath and kitchen forum experience, that I should have done white....See MoreGrout color with white subway tile
Comments (6)your cabinets ended up a fairly cool white...of course the counters reinforce that. I would do a gray grout...there is a range of options in the grays...maybe lean taupe?? Really nice...and the warmer walls you have will balance it out. but the counters/tile/cabinets are a cohesive look..you've done well....See Morealterit
