Bathroom Design
Design Details: Hexagonal Tiles
Bathroom tiles with six sides and endless possibilities
It might be a mouthful to say, but hexagonal tiles (hex tiles, for short) are an easy choice for the bathroom. The classic pattern has been gracing the floors and walls of the loo since the 19th century, and based on the design's recent rise in popularity, it'll likely be around for another century or two to come.
Traditionally, hex tiles came in patterns of white with black accents.
A border in black was common too.
The combination is still popular in traditionally-styled bathrooms, and continues to impart a clean, classic look.
Of course all white is just as timeless, and works in a variety of styles. Here it goes classic.
But it can do transitional...
... Or minimal and modern well too.
... Or make an impact in a bolder hue.
The look is luxe and livable, as smaller tiles are less prone to cracks.
And go ahead and continue them into the shower while you're at it.
If the thought of cleaning the grout between all those tiny tiles gives you the shakes, go for a larger hex instead. They come in all sizes.
