Should we do colorful trim throughout house?

We are building a schoolhouse inspired cottage/farmhouse, and we want it to feel cozy, colorful and playful yet still fresh/crisp. Our land has tons of mature trees, a creek and is about an acre but surrounded by large, mature homes. We are doing white Hardie board exterior and potentially colorful exterior schoolhouse lights (maybe green or lobster red).

Below are some of my interior design boards as well as the rendering of the main living areas so you can see our finishes and the overall home. We are very much inspired by the playfulness of Wes Anderson movies (think Life Aquatic, Fantastic Mr. Foz, Moonrise Kingdom ) and the coziness of British country homes.

My question is, should we:

(1) Paint our windows, trim, doors, mantel & baseboards green throughout the house and keep the walls crisp white; We would likely do a couple rooms in full wallpaper (ceiling included) to bring in some interest.

OR

(2) keep the doors, trim etc. white and do colorful walls throughout (navy, green, light blue, light yellow, etc.)?

Photos of either option you suggest are extra helpful!
