Comments (5)Thank you! Beautiful horse, BTW, he's got better hair than I do, LOL. I've been having some problems logging in this morning, I thought Gardenweb had fixed that, but apparently not. So far today I've been carrying old paint cans up from the basement, the County is having their "hazardous waste" clean up on Saturday. I've made coffee, returned some pop cans, weeded the herb garden. Elery is in Jackson picking up some more of his clothes and garage stuff. Yes indeed, the party is going wild here in White Cloud. (grin) We'll have a cookout on Saturday, here at my house. Dave's birthday was the 22nd. Elery and I had an anniversary on the 10th, Ashley's anniversary was the 17th, Elery's son Chris had a birthday on the 24th and Ashley's birthday is June 6. We're having one big cookout and then they're going to help me uncover the pool. We do know how to celebrate here... Comments (50)RR, I got a ladder last year and a wheel barrow the year before that. I could ask for kitchen stuff but because Elery likes to cook, he already has all that stuff and he brings it to my house. (grin) Our latest "acquisition" is a Cuisinart rotisserie, he just finished 35 years with his employer and they let employees pick gift/bonuses from a catalog based on their years of employment. Comments (57)Thanks salonva! Yes I have...had?...a broken ankle...it'll be 7 weeks tomorrow. So I'm 98% better. I can almost walk down steps without any twinges. But I've been walking and barre and yoga pretty much as before. I've found I've got to work to get to where I was on balance yet, and side planks are still difficult. But I'm getting there. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoWell, the verdict is in...I cut in a little early so the chocolate is a little soft. My take on it...eh. No toes curling.
The pie crust...is definitely tender but it's not very flavorful.
The filling was delish when it was warm, toe curling luscious. But now that it's cooled off, it's fine. Not great but fine.
The cream is whipped cream...no surprises there.
The chocolate curls came out fine and were easy to do.
However, there's something very off about the full combo that is a miss. The curls are *very* chocolate, the crust is very bland and the filling is just so so. Somehow the balance of flavors to make the whole dessert work isn't there.
I had filling left over which is in a bowl like a pudding, and I think I may enjoy that more than with the pie crust.
But I have enjoyed making it, enjoyed the licking and picking along the way and am glad that only DH and I have to deal with the results. If it was a dinner party, I'd be disappointed.
It is extremely rich...please don't ask the calorie content!
