The Edgeworthia chrysantha 'Winter Gold' that we ordered from our local nursery arrived last week in full bloom with the leaves just starting to emerge. In our area it blooms in March and the aroma is wonderfully fragrant.

Asiatic Lily 'lillipop'

A Mexican carnivorous butterwort. Latin name is long and commonly shortened to "Ping". Its summer leaves are sticky, to catch and digest bugs. Its winter leaves are much smaller and non-sticky. Surprisingly easy to grow :-)

Roxsol, in case you were wondering, your little flowers are Ivy Leaved Toadflax, Cymbalaria muralis. Its very common on walls in these islands. It pops up sometimes in my garden and allotment.

Jim's ......is a checkered fritillaria. I've never seen anyone growing them, just in bulb catalogues. lol

nicole, I hear you. I just came back from my walk and the lake is still frozen over. It’s hilarious because the Canada geese are all wandering around, honking their heads off, wondering where to start nesting!

These are not very impressive but considering they were blooming away in the Serengetti Desert in Tanzania, they were. So of a peach colored impatiens.

The chequered fritillary is Fritillaria meleagris, Snakes Head Fritillary, a beautiful, but sadly rare, native over here. A meadow full is quite a sight. They also appear in a white form, even in the wild.

Kathy, your flowers are Kiphofia, aka Red Hot Pokers, a South African native.

Fran1523, your Serengeti flower is probably Crossandra subacaulis.
