Favorite go-to exterior color plan is to pull the color from the mortar for the body of the house - or as close to matching the mortar color as you can get. It's neutral and guaranteed to work with what you've got. For the trim, tell your painter/paint mixer person that you want the same mortar-inspired body color **BUT** several shades lighter or darker - your choice. I'd probably go lighter. It's simple, I know, but it's easy for anybody to execute and you end up with curb appeal that's tasteful, cohesive and pulled together.

Thanks, Patricia. I'll try to upload some pics. I was able to get one uploaded but the others won't. Ok on painting. A friend of ours painted and sealed some of their floors a few years back and they still look great. I've read that textures can be different but color scheme should remain the same, or at least very close. Thoughts? My main question, at this point, is whether I should match the rest of the house with a reddish-brown floor (regardless of material), without regard for the bathrooms, or consider the bathrooms and go light gray. Fyi, the kitchen floor is coming up after the holidays and will be replaced with a hexagon tile. I'll upload a pic if I can. It's a Spanish / Mexican style tile with off-white, reds, rust, orange, etc. and matches existing wood. The flooring store manager suggested painting the hall and bedrooms white or light gray and do kitchen and foyer in this tile. Anyway... thanks again.

Here's what I recommend for your home. Embrace the lovely California Santa Barbara style for your home. Your home can be very special with a few adjustments. All the window frames should be bronze. Either replace them or paint them. Add a wood or faux wood wall pergola over your garage door and start bougainvillea trailing from the trellis Either select a wood grain garage door or have it painted to match your front door If you want to spend more money select Mexican tiles to install on the risers of your stairs for more interest. Your front yard needs some serious landscaping. No lawn IMO. Maybe ferns and a palm tree. Ferns in the front yard. Mexican planters are a must. You want this look for your home IMO. The paint color is not your issue. Landscaping is.

Where are you located? Is your roof a redish/orange tone? You need to work with that and then improve your landscaping too. I think a Sage green color would be very nice. Maybe a light cream if you want a more yellow look. But not a strong yellow. Yellows get strong very fast. So go two shades less strength on yellows.
