Entry Hall design and Decoration Ideas
Comments (7)If you have a pair or trio of small pictures that work well with the mirror frame and table (or a small wall shelf or box (perhaps with a door or drawer for hiding a cell phone and/or keys and/or hair brush for below the one small picture), you could leave the mirror vertical and hang it eye level but off center horizontally with a grouping of smaller items beside it. You might get some poster board and cut it to the shapes of your mirror, etc., and then use removable tape to test how they'll work spaced in different ways....See MoreHallway light fixture ideas
Comments (11)Thanks for the feedback. We don’t have the budget to work with a lighting designer and we aren’t in the US, but I appreciate the offer! RL - thank you for the mock ups. I like the drum ones and I think I’ve seen something similar at Home Depot. I really wanted a black foyer light but the one I like has been discontinued and it’s only available now in the satin. Everything else I see is either too trendy or too ornate. I’ll keep looking. I can also go darker on the paint colour to get it to pop a little better. It’s a big space with a good amount of natural light so I think it could handle saturated wall colour....See MoreIdeas for using a space between rooms as more than a hallway.
Comments (5)start with 30 in deep and 6 ft long...a farmhouse style island. open shelf below or else 15 in deep cabinets or drawers..... on kitchen side. best is 15 in overhang with a few stools if you really think seating will be appreciated it appears youd have walk around clearance if you stick w about 30 in . thing to do is tape off these approx dimensions w blue tape on the floor and see what happens with ?walkability and is 6 feet about right for what youd desire for use. ???? taping off on floor is your action to evaluate since there is nothing there. ....See MoreIdeas on long hallway - wainscoting, paint, etc.
Comments (13)@Sabrina Alfin, our farmhouse is not very rustic. The beadboard is a little too busy for my style. This is our exterior: @WestCoast Hopeful, a gallery wall was originally my thought, too. I ended up doing a 3 x 3 gallery grid wall on the landing of our U-shaped basement steps from our 3 week Alaska/Canadian Rockies trip from a few years ago. I painted the accent wall Behr City Rain which provided a nice contrast to the SW Repose Gray. Since I'm leaning towards putting in a narrow console I'm not sure that a gallery wall would work with that as a focal point. I'm still mulling it all over, though. We went with one main color in our house (SW Repose Gray) and used BM Half Moon Crest in the master and the laundry room. Even our cabinets are SW Repose Gray so I'm wanting to add a little more color to certain spaces. I wish I could pin down my style as I like certain aspects of modern, MCM, transitional, Scandinavian, Boho, farmhouse, etc......lol. Since I need to repaint the hallway anyway where the drywall was repaired, I thought I would test the waters in this space with adding more color....See Moreandreeatigo
