Hallway light fixture ideas
I’m looking for some suggestions for light fixtures to replace in my hallway.
The first photo is the fixture I’m planning to use to replace the chandelier in the second photo. Originally, I wanted something black but I couldn’t find anything that I actually liked in the right size we need.
The foyer opens right into the hallway as seen in the third photo. There are three builder ceiling lights that we want to replace. Given that mixing metals is okay, I don’t see any issue with the new fixtures being black. Door hardware is also going to be black. Walls will be a warm grey/greige and the wooden posts on the stairway are going to be trimmed out with molding. One day, we will be replacing the white floor tiles. Ceilings are 9’ so we’ve got space for flush or semi-flush.
I’m stuck for ideas! My style is a bit eclectic with a mix of traditional and farmhouse. We will need to buy three of them, so cost needs to be considered. I like the idea of black metal and clear glass but have no idea what shape will work for the fixture.

Comments (7)Thanks, Johnatemp! Perhaps I should mention, there are two pendant lights on the second floor. One can not be seen in the photo. It is to the right of the one you can see. The window in the pic is 6'3" high x 4'3" wide. The one you can't see is about a foot shorter & the same width. So, totally there are 3 flushmounts, 1 down, & two upstairs, & 2 pendant lights in this hall. These all need to coordinate & be the appropriate size. Comments (2)I think you could put something larger-format and more of a statement at the top of the stairs and do something more lower profile down the hall. As long as they have the same "feeling," it's okay for them to be different sizes and shapes. This may also help disguise that they're offset, which you as the homeowner will be more conscious of than anyone else who enters your home. For example, if you wanted to add a crystal chandelier at the top of the stairs, add a flush-mount version down the hall. 3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoIf you live in Toronto by chance, Universal Lighting on Cartwright near Yorkdale is a great store with a large inventory and there are a number of other ligting stores on the same block. They may also sell on line.
If you haven’t already purchased your chandelier, I found the one below and dimensions are listed. The semi flush lights from Lowes would really suit
