Why? The F&P drawer has the same dimensions as a standard dishwasher except that it is not as tall -- 18" (F&P) vs 34" (Bosch 300), costs about the same, and holds 7 place settings instead of 16 (claimed).

@wdccruise I don't want a full dishwasher because of bending over. That is why I am looking at the dish drawer.

Edit: There are only 2 of us in the house. Very seldom do we have company.

Bring your bowls, pots and one place setting of your dishes to the appliance store and try them in the dishwasher to make sure they fit before you purchase.

You're going to have to bend over to put things in this dishwasher because most things sit at the bottom of the tub, even glasses. You don't have to bend over at all to put anything in the upper rack(s) of a standard dishwasher.

I had Fisher Paykel double drawers set up for probably about 13 years. You will have to bend over for the bottom drawer at least I would expect. I don't have them now or I would test the Insta Pot pans in them for you. I have absolutely no issues with the plastic tub and would not have a clue as to what the salesman meant by that. I very much liked this set up and would have purchased another one as a replacement (a few items needed replaced/repaired in it and seemed cost prohibitive), but decided to go the cheaper route this time.

Thanks for the information. If I were to get the dish drawer it would be single. I know they are more expensive but if I put one in the pantry too I would want just the single one so I thought it would be better for 2 singles. Again, I know this would be more money. I also understand about the repairs because that is not going to be easy for servicing where we live. I am just trying to check all of my options.

F & P is owned by Chinese conglomerate Haier, who also now owns GE. Personally, I wouldn't want to line their pockets with my money. Others may feel differently.

@Design Girl I feel the same way but I might as well not build my house or purchase any appliances because I think all of them are owned by the Chinese--so sad.

Whirlpool (Maytag, KitchenAid, and the other WP-family brands) are not owned by a foreign parent AFAIK ... although it's a global-economy so various assembly parts may be sourced from China or any other country. (WP, however, does own some foreign-country brands.)

Love my F&P dish drawers. I've had them in 3 homes since they first were introduced yrs ago. I don't use instapots so can't advise specifically. Length and width should be fine. Depth to about 11" sitting on the rack.

When my sister moved in with my mother, they purchased a single FP dish drawer - partly because that’s the only one that would fit in the 1952 era kitchen. For their needs it has worked fine, but if they had company over or if you do a lot of cooking it would not be optimal (i.e. multiple loads would be needed.) Mixing bowls do fit but I can’t say about instant pot bowls. It does clean well and is very quiet.

I have second thoughts about Whirlpool, etc. My KitchenAid appliances have had major issues. I was going to get the KitchenAid dishwasher like the one we have right now but I thought maybe the single dish drawer (or 2 of them) would work better for us.

My parents had F&P dish drawers for a few years and my mother hated them,mostly because they were always breaking. They recently replaced them with a Bosch.

Thanks--that is my main concern too. Bosch is not an option for me either--not available in my area.

I have had very few issues over the years (20 yrs with these, multiple homes). Had a warranty and fortunately for my one issue it was serviced quick. Only other thing was a rack piece yrs ago and ordered it over phone, only to find out the distributor was right in my town. He delivered 4 hrs later to my door for no charge!!! But we know THAT is not the norm. I'm a huge fan of them. Last remodel we were going with all Kitchen Aid (BIL manages an appliance store so could get us builder package price) BUT, I just had to switch out the KA dishwasher for the F&P dish drawers. No regrets.

Thank you so much for this information. Hopefully, this snow will stop so that the potential Architect will make it sometime this next week to look at our lot so we can make some decisions for the kitchen/pantry layout.

Thank you so much for the photos, The videos I have watched looked like the inner pots and even the KitchenAid mixing bowl would fit but I was not sure.

Edit: I just fragrance-free detergent pods, will I be able to use the same in the dish drawers?

I know nothing about the dishwasher drawers other than my friend had one and took it out immediately....did not like it at all and there were only two of them. I know bending over to load a dishwasher is your reason for getting the drawer but have you thought of getting a regular dishwasher and putting a cupboard under it to raise it up so that you needn't bend over? The cupboard could be 12 inches (for example) and your dishwasher would be 12 inches above your counter top. Your kitchen remodeler could make it a nice looking built in especially if it was against the wall and it would be handy, I have thought of doing that also.

I have F&P drawers and a Bosch regular dishwasher I was concerned about F&P because of cost as well. I purchased them both 3 years ago for our remodel. I LOVE them! The top one has more room for larger things which I love (I don’t have an insta pot so can’t help there). My Bosch just went out and has had to be serviced twice and still isn’t working. Can’t stand that dishwasher and have had no problems with the F&P would buy again and again Good luck!

loved my dish drawers in my last house. I could kick myself for not doing the same in my new house even though I really love my Bosch. I loved the ease of not bending over And pulling out racks after opening the door. I bought mine locally and they had an installer that was an expert at all things dishdrawer. His opinion was that most problems that folks had with this DW had to do with installation.

There is no way I would purchase ANY appliance no matter how badly I wanted it without good, local, easily accessible service. No way.

I know what you mean but there are no places close to where we live. I have to make sure the place I want to purchase my appliances will have someone to service them. The place I purchased my last appliances does not carry the appliances that I want to order.
