Hand carved Akua bought on our trip to Hawaii which was back in the 1980s.
A Hudson River School oil that we bought in upstate NY.
Sand paintings from New Mexico
Ceiling tile from the Albuquerque Indian School.
The little crock/jar on my end table is from The Wizard of Clay Pottery shop in the Finger Lakes Region of New York and the wood box is from a shop in New Mexico. When you are traveling by motorcycle, your souvenirs are small and few.
While in Sedona, we took a drive to Jerome. Had lunch in the Asylum,
toured the town, shops and galleries. A fun day.
A giclee I bought in Kauai from artist James Hoyle. He painted this after viewing the Hale Bopp comet.
More Hudson Valley art; this is a watercolor painting that my brother did when he was living in Albany and a student at SUNY.
Lars, that looks to be Olana...
My husband and I bought this wall bed in 2005. It was worth every cent. It frees up space in this NYC apartment. I love it.
@eld6161, loved Jerome!
Iron Mountain Stoneware, made in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. I'd always thought Laurel Bloomery was named for the laurel that covers the mountains there, but per Wikipedia, "A bloomery is a type of furnace once used widely for smelting iron from its oxides. The bloomery was the earliest form of smelter capable of smelting iron. Bloomeries produce a porous mass of iron and slag called a bloom." So the area was named for the iron the mountain produces, not the lovely flower produced by the evergreen shrub. Regardless, I love the stoneware.
A photo box we purchased for ALL our memorable dive photos. ☺
Olana is a wonderful spot. I strongly encourage others to go there. If nothing else, the views are great!
A little guy from my walk on the beach in Florida.
A painting from Key West, FL. I went to see the Hemingway House and this artist was set up and painting outside on the street. I loved his work and bought this piece. It hangs over my bed. I love the colors and the feeling it evokes.
It looks like they have added awning to Olana. Those were not there when Kevin visited it.
This is a T-shirt from a restaurant in New Jersey where I worked about a thousand years ago. Had such a fun summer that I saved the t-shirt all these years.
My tea this morning...

Kellogg's Inter-National Headquarters..Battle Creek, MI
A baleen basket made by E. Attungana , an Alaskan native. Purchased in a native village on one of my husband’s many trips to small native villages while we lived in Alaska. Wish we were still there.
