Generically, I would stay away from any yellow/brown/oranges in your paint color scheme. Personally, I think the dark trim scheme works against you. It would be better if the house body color were a medium tone and the trim much lighter, all the way to white even. Agree with all those who've said to remove the stripes. They give a mobile home vibe to the house. Can't tell details of what's going on now with the tiny picture. In the future, try slightly overlapping pictures (larger ones!) that show a wide view scene, that is centered on the front door. To be sure, create a large landing for the stoop. Pull the walk away from the house (6', 8', 10'...?) in order to allow adequate space for a nice foundation planting. In most cases, in order to preserve planting bed possibilities, it makes sense to direct the walk toward the back of cars parked directly in front of the garage. It is very little difference in the distance to the car door, but the presentation from the street view is much improved.

well, right now you have the tan, the brick, baby blue and the white garage doors and fascia. it's a mis-mash. the shutters are an improper size (too narrow) If you must have the shutters, do something like these. here is your brick w/white stucco and black shutters this coloring is nice. I would think about doing horizontal redwood slats on your inset porch area, around your window and the walls on either side. kind of like this,,just on the recessed walls. this also looks great with black and white. remove the house numbers from where they're at now and place them vertically to the right of the garage door. get bigger ones in black. some color options. you can also go to Sherwin Williams color snap visualizer and upload a picture. try out different colors

Everybody has an opinion, which you asked for, but you have to do what is best for you in your neighborhood. If you are replacing the siding and thinking about doing all the work of painting brick, maybe you should just remove some of that brick altogether. If you leave some of it, have it be lower and even across...maybe 1/3 of the height of the walls instead of half. Keep the excess brick for edging or patio like someone else suggested. I liked the trim-work you added. Definitely do not paint the garage door the same as the front. Keep it in the lighter tone of your siding color choice. This way the front door is a focal point. Do not replace the garage door if it is not needed. There's no reason to add the expense ($1700 or more). I would use the existing shrubs as background to a much larger planted area. Allow budget for mulching that planting bed and, for what it's worth, consider using rubber bark mulch. It definitely is more expensive, but it is worth it in the long run if you're planning on living there. Rubber bark does not attract termites or roaches, it doesn't fade, it doesn't disintegrate, and it doesn't blow away so it doesn't need to be replaced every 2 years like bark mulch. It keeps tires out of the landfill! Anyway, updating is a great idea, but keep in mind why you are choosing to do so. If you are going to live there, spend what you want. If you are updating to sell, keep your budget as low as possible because you won't recoup much of it and expenses can only be subtracted from profits on the house. If you're losing money on the house then not even the realtor fees are deductible. Best of luck with your project!

Katie, if you really don't care for the brick, then the Romabio would be a great option for you. Did you know that the lime wash (the Classico) is removable in the first 72 hours? You could try it out on one side just to see if you like it. If not, hose it off! The Masonry Flat is permanent. acts more like a paint but it's the mineral base so it allows the brick to breathe. Before and after w/the Romabio. looks great Even if you plan on 'covering' most of the brick, (which really isn't that great of an idea) the warm tones are still going to show. I just think doing any type of blue siding on top of it won't look right. If you 'paint' the brick the same white as the windows, and then do the blue siding, you'll have a completely different looking home! I'd sample the romabio on the back or side and try out some sample paints above it, just to see if you like it. If your plan is to remove the brick anyway, I don't see what you have to lose. You could paint your brick the anonymous color, Urbane bronze on the siding, you could do a nice blue door Or, do the Riverway on the siding, paint the brick a soft white, and urbane bronze on the trim. White Heron brick, and any of these blues on the siding. darker blue on the door I love these blues. They will all work w/the brown roof too. (when it's time for a roof redo, choose a medium charcoal gray)
