Do you break your nails on bin/cup pulls?
Comments (9)Thanks everyone for telling me I needn't be worried about breaking my nails. And, kateskouros, my nails are pretty darn short, but when my hand slips on something, they tend to break easily down to the quick, which is painful. But, like I said, I am just extremely clumsy and tend to grab at things quickly, resulting in broken nails. I think it is the thought of grabbing something from underneath, rather than through the top of a handle that has me thinking I'll be always breaking them. What I should do is go to a kitchen showroom and try them out, maybe slathering my hands in hand lotion first :)...See MoreAnyone with ring pulls on their drawers and/or cabinets?
Comments (8)Had them for years for practical reasons. We had a carpenter replace our 70's laminate/oak strip doors with wood doors. The 70's laminate doors didn't have any knobs/pulls since they had the oak pull strip so we didn't realize we had an issue until the new full overlay doors were installed. The ring pulls were the only type of pull that would work with some of the drawers since a regular knob or pull would have blocked perpendicular cabinet doors from opening. We had no problems using them for 10 years or more. In fact, they were quite expensive and I saved them when we did a complete remodel, with the thought that I might find a future use for them....See MoreHave any of you replaced your cup pulls?
Comments (3)Most of my kitchen has knobs, but I wanted something different on my trash can and I had the cabinet installer drill three inch holes that would hold a regular bar handle. I wanted to change it to a bin handle, but I soon learned that they come in different sizes and some that were three inches had to have the larger hole to countersink. I found these cheapies on ebay and it looks as good as the $17.00 pewter one. So my advice is use something where the hole size is pretty standard. All the kitchen cabinets I've ever had have been three inch, so I felt safe going with that. Here is a link that might be useful: 3 inch bin knob...See MoreMixing vertical bar pulls and cup pulls?
Comments (25)Hello, I have chosen cup pulls for the drawers and small knobs (25mm) for the cabinets. But I am not sure what to do for the panneled dishwasher and the panneled fridge.. My questions are: *Is the cup handle comfortable enough to open the dishwasher? *Would it be ok to use a bigger knob for the fridge (38mm) and the pantry next to it? .And what about using handles for these two ? Note : My kitchen is small to American standards , 3 drawers, cabinet under sink, dishwasher , single cabintet, in one wall then one cabinet, oven and mico with cabinet, fridge and pantry. The an island with 2 sets of 3 drawers and bin cabinet Thanks a lot!!! P...See MoreAJCN
