I have a basically all white bathroom: white Hydro Systems tub, white ("cotton") Toto toilet, white Daltile Navelli Carrera Star tile, white Ralph Lauren ("grand") paint, white Restoration Hardware Hutton vanity with white/gray carrera marble. The whites are all similar, but differ slightly. The fixtures are slightly whiter than the tile, which is slightly whiter than the wall color, etc. Personally, I started with the white tile and worked from there. I went with white fixtures without comparing the colors, but then checked the color of the vanity, the marble, the wall color, etc. I think layering whites or whites and creams can look beautiful (even sophisticated). Can you get a sample of the cream vanity and take it to a plumbing show room to get an idea of how the colors will differ? Can you add other touches of cream to the room with paint, tile (or accent tile), or linens? From your description, it sounds like you have a good mixture of crisp white (fixtures maybe? wainscoting) and warmer tones (tan or beige tiles, wall color). I suspect that because you have a mixture and not just a single element of warm or cool tones, it will look great. You could also search online or use sites like Houzz.com to try to find similar color combinations to see if you like them.

My acrylic Bain Ultra air tub was set in a bed of mud with a piece of think plastic between the mud and tub. This was done for the ease of removing the tub if ever the need arises. It's as solid feeling on the bottom as my husband's Kohler cast iron tub. As for cleaning, that's a different story. You're not supposed to use anything abrasive on acrylic. Believe it or not, Scrubbing Bubbles is considered abrasive :( That's been my go to tub cleaner for years. To clean my acrylic tub RIGHT, I use Gel Gloss. It's a pain (literally!). You spray it on, let it sit, buff it and let it dry and then wipe the residue. When I'm in a pinch for time or physically limited, I will use Scrubbing Bubbles. There are very few non abrasive cleaners out there. One Bain Ultra suggested was Lemon scent Lysol. NOTHING works better than Scrubbing Bubbles!

We will probably reglaze our tub when we retile, but I would hesitate to reglaze a tub in a rental property unless the renters could be trusted to take to heart my very specific instructions on how to clean it. Several of my co-workers have reglazed tubs. After 8 years of good performance with Eva's first reglazing, she is now in year 5 of a second reglazing. Carol, however, reported failure of her tub surface after only 2 years. When we asked how she cleaned it, she listed Magic Eraser, scrubby sponge, Tilex, and whatever soap scum buster she had on hand. Either her reglazers did not leave cleaning instructions for the tub, or Carol did not read them. A reglazed surface is easily damaged by anything abrasive, and it can crack if something heavy or sharp is dropped on it (e.g., a hand-held shower head, a tile-scrubbing appliance). To optimize the longevity of the surface, the cleaning instructions I've seen recommend only a soft sponge and a gentle soap scum dissolver. Period. Not sure it's realistic to trust a renter to use only those items for cleaning the tub.

Another option. I have 80's beige/almond/whatever shower/tub combos in my beach condo. I am having them spray coated white. They're in great shape; I just don't like the color.
