Revisiting refinishing/reglazing a bath tub

The bathroom was renovated, new floor tiles, new wall tiles, just about four years ago. Instead of replacing the cast iron tub at the time, it was "reglazed". I think it was because the bathroom door was too narrow to get a new tub through it. Well, during the last months, the paint/"glaze" has started to flake off.

The company who did the original remodel, tells me that the technology has significantly improved over the last few years and that refinishing could last a lifetime. Some local companies offer a five year warranty --- haven't read the exclusions, though.

So, assuming that refinishing is the way to go, what is the most durable finish? To make matters worse, this is the only bathroom in a rental (fortunately, only one person.)
