Terilyn where did you get yours? We definitely qualify but I am hoping to find a location closer to home. Kroger pharmacist told me today she would call me as soon as they got their allotment.

Being a care giver (and being eligible for the covid vaccine) I checked with the county that I work in and found out that there are no #1 shots available, only the second shots.

When I told my employer this she made a weird face and said "you know, they came out with this vaccine so fast that they haven't worked out any problems with it - it might not even work!!" and in the same breath she said "that's why I have ordered Hydroxychloroquine to take in case I get the virus." It is obvious to me that she gets her medical info off of Fakebook. So sad. I have known this woman for 45 years and have to keep the conversation light because we do not agree on most things of any importance.

I took my mom (92 on 3/1) for her second Pfizer on Monday. Her first was on 1/20, so that was a great day!

She experienced no side effects. I’m keeping a closer eye on her this time, but so far so good.

My sister and her husband got the Moderna. She had a great deal of arm pain. It started hurting her about a week after the injection. They’re getting the second dose on 2/22.

Unfortunately my husband and I won’t be able to get it any time soon.

Yay! Good news from many of you. I got my first one yesterday and have the second scheduled. Pfizer. My arm is sore this morning, nothing major or unexpected.

Get my first on 2/27. My mom gets her second in two weeks. I am looking forward to getting this over with and take care of a bunch of other physical problems. I’m not sure what normal is, if we ever get back to it.

I’ll be interested to hear of any reactions to the second shot.

We've had zero reaction to our first Moderna vaccine. However, friends have said the second one made them sick for a day or so. Anyone here experience that?

I got my first yesterday and my husband got his first today. We received different vaccines (mine was Pfizer and his Moderna). His second was scheduled right after he got his first today at the pharmacy of our grocery store. Mine (from our city health dept.) won't be scheduled until the end of the month when they email me a link to schedule a time.

so far after 2nd shot--only a sore arm.

We are in Marion County, FL. To even get a first shot is tough. We have been on the Marion County Dept. of Health list for over about 6 weeks. Our turn has to be coming up soon. Hopefully. I am 72 and DH is 86, and we are flying back to MN in April. Really hoping to get them before that.

I got it yesterday, the second one, Moderna. Arm started to ache within a few hours and this morning I have a hot, red swollen bump. My fingers are cold, so I rest them on the site. Feels good to my arm and hand. Otherwise I feel fine. When I got the injection, it hurt and bled a little. I am OK and so grateful to get both doses.

I just registered on my county website. There was a short list of questions to be answered. Age, a list of health issues, and occupation appeared the most pertinent in what phase you would be eligible.

I'm 58 and take an immuno-suppressant drug for my Rheumatoid Arthritis which I believe makes me eligible in Phase 1B - tier 2 of my states tier system. I also work in the transportation industry (considered an essential worker according to the guidelines) which is listed in the eligibilities for Phase 1B - tier 3. My county is continuing Phase 1A vaccines and they say they are now starting phase 1B tiers 1 and 2.

Oops, I just did a little reading on RA drugs and from what I read there doesn't appear to be any increased risk from Covid-19 to a person taking a immuno-suppressant drug for RA or other disease. I guess I am not eligible under phase 1B - tier 2.

There doesn't appear to be a way to change one's registration on our county website.

I'm still eligible under phase 1B - tier 3 though. If I am called for an appointment I will let them know I erroneously answered the questions on health by mistake. All they asked is if you were immunocompromised.

Lone Jack since RA is a chronic disease you should still be eligible. However do not be surprised if like myself that you are turned away. My reasoning is that RA can cause the tissues to swell along with many other things depending on where the shots are given they may not want to inject you. Call your county health department and speak to the person in charge of the program.

One of my neighbors said he had an appointment and is driving up to College Station for his. He couldn't find anything locally. You might keep a lookout on Nexrdoor. People have been pretty actively posting on there when something opens up.

I think Lone Jack should speak to his personal physician first. Many of the people administering these programs, and working for the governmental health departments, are public health functionaries and not experienced/active clinicians.

Elmer - I did discuss the vaccine with my RA doctor at my last appointment right before Christmas and she didn't have any reservations about me getting the vaccine. She also did say that at that point in time it was unclear whether having RA and taking immuno-suppressant drugs increased the severity of the disease or put one at greater risk.

Lone Jack can do what he wishes and it depends on the doctor's office. So many of the offices in this areas are just referring the calls to the health department. Your own doctor should be the first place and I was told that I should just sign up at mine. The doctor and the health department had different ideas.

It may be a good idea to reconnect with that doc, maybe more is known now. Or maybe not.

Since doctors offices here are not giving shots I fail to understand why connect to the doctor. Only place currently is through the Health Department.

Our dr did not have the vaccine but we got the first shot at the mall...for people 70 and over....I am 74, husband is 73 with COPD and other problems.
