I think I got all immediately except the next to last one (of the extras).

All but the Part 1 #1, and Part 2 #2 and #3.

Not #1 in the first one and not #1 or #2 in the second. I’ll keep staring at it.

I think I have Part 2 #3 now. I may have something for Part 1 #1, but completely baffled by Part 2 #2!

Where is everyone? Where are our hint-givers? ? ? I am still pretty hornswoggled by the second part, even after looking at it several times yesterday. I have a pretty far-fetched idea for #1 and #3 of the second part, but nothing for #2. And I'll confess, I even tried to look them up, and failed.

Like I don't have enough problems with one puzzle, you have to torment me with two??? lol...I have most of the first, none of the second batch.

I think I have them all and agree that the first puzzle was easy for all six. I did not get the Eel one until the hint. The "off" one I have more than one idea for, but I think one of them is correct.

I need a hint for Part 1 #1!

Okay, I did have the first set all right. And thanks to bpath's hint, I got the first one of the second set right. Somehow I got 'forgotten' in my mind and couldn't shake it until I read the hint. And I thought the last one was 'off balance'. I never did get the second one. I must have said 'squared eel' to myself 50 times, but never did it segue into 'square deal', makes me feel so dumb!

The second of the second group is a bit of a stretch. I think the normal English term to describe the mathematical expression would be "Eel squared", not "squared eel". When dealing with a lot of exponential terms, also common would be to say "raised to the power of 2" or "to the second power". Sorry
