I would leave the TV where it is; it is at the appropriate height for viewing. I would paint that wall to match the others in the room. It would diminish the contrast between the TV and wall. I would place minimal if any artwork around the TV. You are going to run into problems placing your pieces around the various switches. I don't see any lamps in your room. I would focus on lighting and window treatments next. I love your area rug - I would find some way to use that beautiful shade of blue as an accent color. And your pup is adorable!

Thanks everyone for input. The mirror over sofa was hung on existing hook, if I was keeping it I would move it down some but I still feel its not a good size for that space. Theresa, I love the idea of adding a wreath to soften a mirror if I put one above sofa! The picture of my son is actually a digital painting if seen up close. I'm just worried about adding another piece of art to the room right across from it? Allison, the tree in entryway is holding spot for a lamp. I like the tree but it barely gives off any light. Its pretty tho! I have been along for a tray to put everything together but I don't know what to look for, silver? I have enough gold I think lol. Throwing out an idea, what about a mantel on the empty dining wall that is only 5 inches in depth so it doesn't take up walking space but I can add some candles, etc on top shelf?

I really appreciate your input! I never thought of the bookcase for that large wall. I also love that lamp! My kitchen does come with a moveable island, (the size of one standard cabinet) and not large enough for two barstools. So that's why I considered a separate dining area for those. Also I should've mentioned, for now we are renting the space, so we aren't able to make a large amount of changes to the home so that's why I was looking for alternatives for the lighting issue And just to ask, because I'm not good at design and want to learn more, the door opening to the console and the tv isn't an issue design-wise? Like it doesn't disrupt the flow of the room? Is it wrong to have the back of the couch face the door or is that personal preference? Again, thank you so much for your input! I love your ideas

I suggest a big arc floor lamp at the corner of the sectional, and take the existing prints you’ve got and put them in very large black frames, with matte, no glass. Place a tree in the corner next to the window. I think the kiddie table and chairs are adorable and if the kids will let you, put them in front of the sofa for a coffee tabl. Put a storage end table where the kiddie table is now.
