The Grand Canyon. Thinking that my grandson might like to paint this art someday, I took this picture.

Excuse the reflection of the Christmas tree lights. My great-uncle Vincent was killed in late December 1944. After the war, the town he had been stationed in sent two paintings to my great-grandparents in remembrance of him. The artist went to a minor degree of fame and fortune in the abstract art field (I like the more impressionist style of these early works better.)

In a small town in upstate NY, every few months, artists paint a theme and their renditions are displayed in the two block radius of the town.

    This installation was butterflies.

They are then up for sale.

Mural in the church at Knock Shrine in Ireland. Here’s the story. The Apparition at Knock

On the evening of the 21st of August 1879, a heavenly Apparition occurred at the gable wall of the Parish Church when Our Lady appeared, in the company of St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist. Unique to the Knock Apparition was appearance of a Lamb standing before a Cross on a plain altar and surrounded by angels.

I had to share this one, too, after seeing Maire Cate’s photo of the Mona Lisa. Here is my view of Van Gogh’s Starry Night at the MoMA. Fortunately I had already seen it when it was part of an exhibition near me.

Tvq, Vermeer is my favorite artist. I am still kicking myself for missing the exhibition of his work when it was at The National Gallery in DC.

This is a painting that my sister-in-law's sister did for me. I sent her a number of pictures of my flowers that I had taken. She was ill at the time and I thought it would entertain her a bit. She made this painting and sent it to me. She was a very good artist in multiple mediums.

My photo of a Martha Washington begonia.

Water color so it's under glass...sorry about the camera flash reflection.

Fun2BHere, I noticed that too just now when I posted them together. It was already to hang when I received it, so I'm guessing she maybe printed out my photo and turned it around when she painted it. Artistic license?

I didn't notice until now that today was National Texas Day. Here's a painting my brother did while living in Texas:

I bought this one from him, and it is now in my bedroom. I've had it since 1990.

Years before the internet made art hunting easier, I discovered Gabrielle Munter on the back cover of a Readers Digest. I tore it off and framed it. I love the colors and the feeling of going home. Yes, a magazine page...tacky! 🙄🤣

I think I might be top of the tacky tree matinca, I’ve got quite a lot of Internet print outs round the house:)

Aw, Maddie, that one just breaks my heart. 😄
