Help finding kitchen chairs and counter stools

I need some help finding kitchen table chairs and counter stools. I would like to add chairs to the kitchen table and counter stools that would coordinate with each other but not necessarily be the same style. For the table chairs, we have a built-in eating area with a walnut table and Kravet light blue leather seating. I have picked out fabric for some backing/pillows (see attached photo). Every walnut chair I bring home competes with the table because it doesn't match but is not different enough to look ok. I am open to using the pillow fabric on the counter stools to tie them together. Any suggestions? I would love to hear some thoughts.

The table for is too cluncky and big for the banquette and lord help the poor person stuck in the seat at the back. I have to say IMO banquette seating is just bad. As for the cahirs there is no reason the stools and chairs have to match and I agree the stools are great its the table that is all wrong

Well, it's half-impressive. I got the painters who did the whole house to paint out the cabinets. I hired professionals to manufacture and install the marble countertops. And the floors were installed by professionals. But we raised and moved around cabinets, did the demo, clad the island and added new toe kicks and end panels, etc. We're the IKEA tung/linseed oil actually. I read up about it online and it was really well reviewed by finishing carpenters who were surprised by the quality of the product when they tried it out. The island is a custom hard block maple though. We used the IKEA solid oak butcher block in the laundry room, and it's not super great quality. I'm glad we didn't use it in the kitchen.

A bistro table with a marble top would work if you can find it in the right size. C&B has one, but the top is too small for your area.

I think that tall back windsor style chairs can have a lot of look around a 48" table and will make it feel too cramped. Look at pics of them with 4 around a table and see what the size room looks like. I too think the chandelier is a bit too big but it is ok because the arms are slender. I think if you pair it with all the spindles in a windsor chair, that area is going to start looking like a bar code! Also, given that your husband is a large man, I would absolutely not get a cheap chair you have to assemble. Go to a store where you can sit on them and feel what they are like for both comfort and quality. And pay attention to the width of the seat no matter what chair you get.

thinkdesignlive Thank you. The floor in the room adjacent to the kitchen is birch wood. I don't have much choice in terms of the floor than to put tiles. The tile will be going in the kitchen, the entrance, the hallway, the kitchen table area and the mudroom. The floor needs to be redone in that our tiles are cracking. The trim all over the home is white. So far I have picked the Olympia Glam series Tortora a neutral, good-for-traffic area tile. ( see picture above ) The wood of the kitchen cabinets is in good shape, but some doors need to be refreshed. The wood in some doors is getting bare due to water damage or lack of varnish in some areas. Luckily, I found someone willing to do a trial in my powder room cabinet to see what it would look like and whether he could refresh the cabinets. I would love to redo a full kitchen however I was quoted $ 70000 just for the cabinets if we still want wood. I agree with you that I am all over the place. I will follow your suggestion and create a new inspiration board. Thank you for this suggestion.

Patricia is commenting on my thought that the table is heavy for the space. Sorry, I hit delete instead of submit.

But, to respond to you about the chairs, try something other than walnut.

This fabric looks close to what I am seeing on my monitor, and I like the white to work with the painted banquette. From overstock, there are matching side chairs.

Are the bar stools walnut? Put the banquette upholstery on the seats.

You don’t have to duplicate stools with chairs and actually it’s more interesting if you don’t. I’d suggest black chairs for a nice look. Also consider their size so they don’t feel too big or small with the length of table and legs work with the large pedestal.

Would feel too skimpy for example

This one would work with your fabric (which is lovely). You may also be able to remove seat to reupholster

You could look for chairs that are suitable for cushions and use your fabric
