Gap between tiled floor and new acrylic shower base

Doreen Calder

We just got a new shower installed on existing tile floor. There was a pretty big gap between the shower base and the tile. The contractor filled it in with silicone, but as you can see from the photos, it is now an eyesore. When we mentioned it to the contractor, he said that we could “cover it up with trim”. We are assuming he is talking about mdf trim, but we do not think that will look right. Any ideas on how to fix this and have it look nice? Disappointed to have spent all this money on a renovation only to have it look this terrible.
