Also, we used Polyblend's "Charcoal" for the grout on the porcelain tile floor. There doesn't seem to be a Charcoal color for the caulk. What's a good substitute? A different brand? Thanks!

personally, I wouldn't do anything to it. if it's right next to the shower do a bath mat. I have the exact same set up w/tile/baseboard right next the tub/shower. if there is any excess water drip-age from feet or the shower door opening, then you just use a small towel and wipe it. This usually only happens when I clean the shower (because I'm rinsing off the glass doors). So not to belabor this issue, but just leave as is and wipe the floor after showering. if you think it's that bad where you have water seeping under the baseboard, then run a clear bead of silicone caulk. It doesn't shrink or crack and it's paintable. goluscombe you need to familiarize yourself w/new products.

The correct way to do this is to replace the old flooring. Unless you put something over the edge of the linoleum, it will start to peel away from the subfloor. It is just a matter of time. An easy to do flooring would be to install vinyl click lock flooring right over the old flooring. (Frequently called LVP - Luxury Vinyl Plank) You should pull the toilet and reinstall after the flooring is in.

OMG their workmanship is terrible. Obviously you didn't have a permit, because no City would have approved this job. You need to cut your losses and have this redone by a professional tile person. You should NOT under any circumstances be giving them advise on how to fix this. You will be giving them an out, because all they need to say is "She told us how to do this and we were just following what SHE wanted. SHE knew we weren't tile professionals. What you are seeing is just the tip of the ice berg of problems. I agree that probably the drainage of the floor is probably also wrong. Did they also do the Plumbing as well? In the future, you will undoubtedly be faced with major water damage to your home. If any damages occur down the road, it may be difficult to get your insurance company to pay for repairs once they see how this was done. These people need to return your money and the cost of your tile so you can redo the shower. For goodness sake don't let them work on any thing else in your house. If you need references, I would go to a large reputable tile store and ask them for people they know and trust. Be sure to check that their license. You can do this by checking their license no. with your State's Contractor's Board. Best of Luck to you.
