Has anyone had a leather handbag dyed a different color?

I had been looking for a certain size/style, and although the one in question (found on eBay) wasn't the blue I had really had in mind, it appeared to be a pretty sky blue in the listing photo that would work. The listing only referred to it as "light blue".

Oops.

It is actually a very gray blue... I'd maybe call it steel blue. And I don't care for it at all.

However the bag itself is in very good condition and is what I'd been hoping for; plus it can't be returned, although I could re-list it for sale. So, I am wondering if I could have it dyed to a blue I wanted.

I did a quick internet search but didn't find any listings for that service in town - I thought that shoe repair shops did this, but none say so on their websites. I will call a few in the morning to check.

In the meantime, what's your experience? Successful or not so much? Cost?
