Phrase of the day 1/15 (first one was deleted!!)

Neither hide nor hair

Meaning “absolutely nothing,” this phrase probably came from the language of huntsmen. A hunter reporting a fruitless day might well report that he had seen neither hide nor hair of any game, referring tosuch smooth-hided beasts as bison or moose and to any of the much more common hair-coated beasts.

To me it meant they were cold hearted and without empathy...they'd say anything to get what they want. Not sure 'suspiciously amiable' would fit that.

I'm not sure why it should be considered "funny". It has always been Houzz policy to ban or cancel the membership of those who routinely violate the Terms of Usage. HT just presented so many opportunities for that to happen. If anything, they are a little too lax about the policy, allowing a lot of second (and third and fourth) chances before pulling the plug. Personally, I wish they were a little more diligent about monitoring those who consistently violate the house rules.

The first post had to do with the nature of the game of shooting craps. Possibly someone did not like my "craps".
