3 years agoWe have a set of Miele wall ovens...the upper oven is a CombiSteam, the lower is regular/convection. Both have user friendly controls, heat up quickly, and perform flawlessly.
If I may make a suggestion, consider Thermador for the rangetop. The star burners on the Thermador cook more efficiently than the circular burners on Wolf. The inner part for the stars reach the center of pots and pans, whereas Wolf’s circular burners do not. Here’s ours. Click to enlarge.

Convection steam + single oven, or double oven???
Comments (8)I have never missed double ovens. I love my combi oven, and encourage you to get it, assuming you cook and are adventurous with something new! I only use my other oven about 6-10 times/year, seriously. The space in my Gagg combi is enough to cook any meats, gratins, egg dishes, brownies, cookies, pies, cakes, etc. Because it heats up so quickly, I hardly ever use my large oven (except for big gatherings and holiday baking). I wanted to pair mine with a wall oven (I also had a history of double 30" wall ovens), but at the time there was not a 30" wall oven that looked good stacked with it, so I opted for a range and combi is alone in the wall. Comments (5)This is very interesting as I was thinking of a single wall oven plus a convection microwave as a second oven. We have a regular microwave as well. I really want the second oven for pies, keeping things warm etc but don't need 2 full size ovens as in a double wall oven. Consumer reports didn't seem to think much of the convection microwaves so that put me off. The microwave ovens would be on opposite sides of the kitchen which has some advantage. Comments (7)A combi oven is much broader in function than a steam oven. . I would look at Miele, plumbed version. It functions as a steam oven but also as a full on convection oven but with control of humidity. You can read some of the manuals online especially Gaggenau and it gives you an idea of how it can work and the levels if humidity for different cooking needs. http://resources.gaggenau.com/us/wp-content/uploads/BS-470-485-Use-and-Care.pdf For just reheating, a MW is quicker. It is sort of self steaming. Comments (7)I won't try to convince you on one over the other, but I wouldn't think dealing with two stores would bother me. In my case it really didn't matter because our remodeler deals with the brands enough that he wanted his own folks to install them, so we just had them delivered by the appliance center and he went from there. Bluestar vs. Wolf: I think you really just need to see them both up close to see if the open burners would bother you aesthetically. We really like them and like the look of them (they just look serious :). Each burner has its own cast iron bottom mold and top grate (I think the wolf top grates are double deep?), and clean up is really, really easy. We just use a hot wash cloth or sponge and wipe down debris after use...any salt, cooked bits, etc., just falls through the bottom grate onto a slide out catch pan below, which we line with aluminum foil and replace periodically (If it's wet food spillovers, then obviously sooner, but the bottom grate catches most things). If you really need to, you can just take an individual burner's set of grates off and scrub it with soap/water. The wolf is beautiful and was on our short list, so if you don't think you'd be able to live with the look of Bluestar, then you really can't do wrong either way. We were called by the afterburner BTUs of the bluestar and actually liked the more "component-like" structure of the grates/burners to clean as needed....See Moredarbuka
