Living Room Layout with Bay Window?

Hello I have this living room with a bay window and I don’t know how I would arrange / position the furniture

? Where would I put the TV on the wall or a credenza that I have ? I also have an L shaped couch . Also this is staged so as it looks nice you will notice there is no TV ~

Decent layout in the pics however will not be practical for tv watching. Is this Space going to have a tv?

Alas never took a photo of it as far as I can remember. This one is similar and looks to be about the same size. MIne had more detail outside but no drawers. I was looking for a larger piece but the labels on the shelves won my heart and being small it fit nicely into the small bedroom. Celestina, I had a half rack of that sort of design made of cast metal that might have been brass that fit nicely in the front hall. Fastened to studs it took up far less room and couldn't fall over. Sold that on eBay long ago and had never seen anything like it since until just now. Pictures are upside down but it is exactly the same design. If you could find a shoe cubby that looked okay with the old fashioned vibe it would terrific looking so long as you manage to keep it cleared off. You wouldn't think something that simple could hold so much! I really like the pieces acm found particularly the wood and metal 3 shelf one. Just work really hard to keep the number of things hung to a dull roar.

I would take some painters tape and square off the room. The bay window side and the alcove side and use the square area for furniture placement. I would hold off on buying a sectional until you are absolutely certain it will work. Most often a sofa and chairs is a better purchase

I wouldn't do anything with the bay window, but would suggest a beautiful rug for warmth and interest, and to take away from the coldness of all that glass. Have wood end tables if you keep the glass coffee table, and introduce some tall plants to soften the look and make you feel less as though you live in a fish bowl. Find some more colorful cushions that tie in with the rug color to give warmth and life to this very neutral room.

Here is how I would arrange it. Not having dimension, this is obviously not to scale, but gives you general idea. I'd use round features when possible to eliminate the look of the angled wall. Example: here I used a round rug and chairs. I don't know how much space is in the bay window area or if you need to place a dining table there. But, if so, this is one option of how to fit a dining table in smaller space: scoot it up to the back of the sofa. I also do not have information on what furniture you have, but I would not use 2 sofas as the current owner is showing. I'd use one sofa and a couple of chairs, as show below. Hope that helps. Seems like the only wallspace is the one opposite the bay. How many do you have to seat? Will the sectional be enough? I think I would go with a credenza ( shockingly enough, not my type to say this) but I think it’ll flow better. Credenza should go where the two chairs are now.

Place the TV/credenza on the large blank wall with the couch across from it, in front of the bay window. I would "ignore" the bay window and use it similarly as a sofa-table set behind the couch. Style it similar to this:

The first two dilemmas here....window treatments that will offer,privacy and cut off the light if you ever wish to watch tv during the day...and creating a “ foyer space” at the front door..it is difficult to tell the length of the space from the photos and hard to advise without seeing your furniture as to how this can be done.. but in theory a separate foyer space would be a nice separation in such a long room....and using an end wall for the tv will lessen the importance of the curtains needing to cut out all light that will glare and reflect on the tv..
